WOW 1996 is a compilation album of thirty contemporary Christian music that was released on November 7, 1995. This represented the first installment in a highly successful annual series named WOW Hits. The album peaked at No. 144 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart in 1995. It also landed in seventh place on Billboard's Top Contemporary Christian album chart that year, and reached second place in 1996. The album was certified as platinum in the year 1997 by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).RIAA official site

Contemporary Christian music, also known as CCM, Christian pop, and occasionally inspirational music is a genre of modern popular music, and an aspect of Christian media, which is lyrically focused on matters related to the Christian faith and stylistically rooted in Christian music. It was formed by those affected by the 1960s Jesus movement revival who began to express themselves in other styles of popular music, beyond the church music of hymns, gospel and Southern gospel music that was prevalent in the church at the time. Point Of Grace
Point of Grace is an all-female contemporary Christian music vocal group. The current trio consists of Shelley Breen, Denise Jones, and Leigh Cappillino. The group started out as a quartet in 1991, with original members Breen and Jones, as well as Terry Jones and Heather Payne. Terry Jones left in November 2003 to spend more time with her family after the birth of her third child, with Cappillino joining in March 2004 for their 2004 release ''I Choose You''. In June 2008, Payne announced her retirement from the group to spend more time with her family. The group's self-titled debut album was released in 1993. Take 6 is an American a cappella gospel music, gospel sextet formed in 1980 on the campus of Oakwood University, Oakwood College in Huntsville, Alabama. Cindy Lavonne Morgan (born June 4, 1968) is a contemporary Christian music singer and songwriter. Morgan's 1992 debut album, ''Real Life'', earned her six Dove Award nominations. Her follow-up, '' A Reason to Live'', garnered her another Dove Award nomination. Overall she has earned 13 Dove Awards. Morgan, using her married name, is also one half of the duo St. Lola in the Fields with Jeremy Bose. They released ''High Atop the Houses and the Towns'' on October 5, 2010 via Nettwerk. Bryan Edward Duncan (born March 16, 1953) is an American contemporary Christian music artist. He is known for being lead singer of the group Sweet Comfort Band, solo career, and involvement with the Nehosoul Band. Petra is an American music group regarded as a pioneer of the Christian rock and contemporary Christian music genres and was, for many years, regarded as the "world's most popular Christian rock band". Wes King
Wes King (born January 20, 1966) is an American contemporary Christian singer, songwriter, photographer, and musician. He is perhaps best known for his 1993 album ''The Robe.'' His demo material, a cassette tape named "Lonely Poet", is sung by other artists, such as Kim Hill. He briefly attended Covenant College outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee, in the late 1980s. He also led worship at Christian youth retreat camps.
