''WOP!'' entered the Album Top 100 at the number 1 position and remained there for nine weeks, and was certified platinum in April 2016. Background and release ''WOP!'' was produced by and recorded by Lil' Kleine and, for the most part, Ronnie Flex, following the release of their number 1 single "Drank & Drugs". During the two weeks leading up to the release of the album, its label TopNotch published a series of videos on social media documenting the recording. Although the album was recorded largely by two artists, it was released on 12 February 2016 as a solo album because Flex was also working on his own album at the time and preferred to be seen as merely a featured artist. In the album's first week, all e ...

Nederhop
::''This article is written from a predominantly Netherlands viewpoint – neglecting much of the Belgian (Flanders) scene, let alone Dutch- or mixed-language rap/hip hop in the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, nor Suriname!'' Dutch hip hop or Nederhop ("Netherhop"), is hip hop / rap music created by Dutch speaking musicians in the Netherlands and Flanders (Belgium). Although the first Dutch speaking rappers in Europe typically worked in English, this began to change after 1986, at first in an underground scene. The Osdorp Posse were the first to record and release Dutch language hip hop singles, from around 1990, but it took until 1995 for a Dutch language rap single to achieve a main chart top ten hit: ''Spraakwater'' by Extince.20 Years of Netherhop, by Ali B. – video

Hip Hop Skit
A hip hop skit is a form of sketch comedy that appears on a hip hop album or mixtape, and is usually written and performed by the artists themselves. Skits can appear on albums or mixtapes as individual tracks, or at the beginning or end of a song. Some skits are part of concept albums and contribute to an album's concept. Skits also occasionally appear on albums of other genres. The hip-hop skit was more or less pioneered by De La Soul and their producer Prince Paul who incorporated many skits on their 1989 debut album ''3 Feet High and Rising'', however an even earlier example may be found at the end of the Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five hit, '' The Message''. The Hip Hop Skit, although dominant throughout the 90s and the early 2000s, began to be phased out in the latter half of the 2000s and the early 2010s. Reasons for this include the popularity of MP3. Writing for The AV Club, Evan Rytlewski opined that skits may have originally been in vogue because an expanded t ...
