WMYM ESPN Deportes 990 AM
WMYM is a radio station licensed to Kendall, Florida, serving the Miami metropolitan area as the Flagship (broadcasting), flagship station of the Spanish-language sports network Unanimo Deportes. WMYM is broadcast on 990 Kilohertz, kHz. History WFAB "La Fabulosa" broadcast a Spanish-language format on 990 from 1962 to 1977; the station, however, lost its license due to fraudulent billing practices. The demise of WFAB led to a multi-year fight for the license, ultimately won by Community Broadcasting Company. The unbuilt construction permit was sold to W.R.A. Broadcasting in 1996 and went on air in 1997 was WFBA. (The WFAB call letters had been assigned in the intervening 20 years to a station in Puerto Rico.) Kendall, Florida
Kendall is a census-designated place in Miami-Dade County, Florida. At the 2020 census, the area had a population of 80,241. While the US Census Bureau has set definite boundaries for Kendall as a CDP, the community has a highly ambiguous local definition. Prior to the 1950s, the term "Kendall" was used to describe a region centered around U.S.-1, bounded by Snapper Creek to the north, the Everglades to the west, Old Cutler Road to the east, and the former community of Rockdale to the south. This area was largely uninhabited, generally consisting of pine rockland interspersed with fields and groves. As the region experienced rapid development in the 1950s, the moniker "Kendall" came to refer to the various communities built in the vicinity of present-day Pinecrest and the eastern half of the current Kendall CDP. ESPN Deportes Radio was an American Spanish language sports radio network created and produced by Disney-owned ESPN. Programming included call-in talk shows and commentary from hosts about a full range of sporting events, including soccer, American football, baseball and boxing.
