WQWK (FM)
WQWK (105.9 MHz) is an active rock FM radio station broadcasting in State College, Pennsylvania. It is known as QWIK Rock. The station, owned by Jeffry and Mark Schlesinger, through licensee Schlesinger Communications, Inc., was founded by brothers C. Dean & Sheldon Sharpless, doing business as Moshannon Valley Broadcasting. The current incarnation was formed after WQWK abandoned its active rock format for talk radio in 2008. WFXS (98.7 MHz) is a sports FM radio station that is located in Pleasant Gap, Pennsylvania. History 98.7 was originally licensed to Mill Hall, Pennsylvania, as WZRZ in December 1995. Engineer Jack (Jay) Kennedy found this available frequency and sold the construction permit to Sabatino Cupelli. Cupelli built it out and put it on the air playing classic hits as Eagle 98.7 FM. Later on, the station was sold to Forever Broadcasting and the community of license was changed to Pleasant Gap. The station adopted the call letters WLTS-FM in late 2000. WRSC-FM (95.3 MHz) is a radio station licensed to Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, serving the State College area. It currently airs a news/talk format. History When State College's radio station formats shuffled in 2004, WZWW was one of the few FM stations that maintained its frequency. When the bars in State College tried to promote their respective businesses, they were confused as to which stations to hire. On September 4, 2020, at 2PM, after teasing a relaunch with construction noises between songs the previous day, WZWW shifted from Adult Contemporary to Hot Adult Contemporary, keeping the "3WZ" name. The first song after the relaunch was "Good as Hell" by Lizzo.
