WJDQ (101.3 FM, "Q101") is a Top 40 (CHR) formatted radio station in Meridian, Mississippi. History Broadcasters and Publishers, Inc., received the construction permit for a new FM radio station in Meridian. When WDAL-FM hit the air in February 1968, it was the 24-hour counterpart to 1330 WDAL, simulcasting its country format during the day and airing contemporary music at night. The -FM suffix was dropped in 1976, and the station became WJDQ for the first time in 1979 and flipped to a Top 40 In the music industry, the Top 40 is the current, 40 most-popular songs in a particular genre. WJXM (95.1 MHz, "95.1 The Beat") is an urban contemporary music formatted FM radio station broadcasting in the Meridian, Mississippi, Arbitron market. In one form or another, WKZB had been a top 40 station in the market for over twenty years. While the station currently broadcasts on 95.1, it was originally located on the 101.3 frequency and carried a "Q101" branding. WKZB's original city of license was Meridian, but with the move to 95.1, it was relicensed to Marion, Mississippi. URBan Radio Broadcasting purchased the radio station from Clear Channel in 2007 and then sold it, along with its sister stations, to New South Communications in September 2011. WOKK (97.1 FM, "97 OKK") is a country music-formatted radio station broadcasting in the Meridian, Mississippi, Arbitron market. Its transmitter is located on Mississippi Highway 145 south of Meridian. From 1970 to 1983, the callsign was WALT and until 1981 was formatted as a top-40 station. The growth of competitor WJDQ "Q-101" prompted WALT to adopt an easy-listening format, much to the chagrin of its listeners. But the format change was short-lived. Wyhl () is a municipality in the district of Emmendingen in Baden-Württemberg in southwestern Germany. It is known in the 1970s for its role in the anti-nuclear movement.
