The station is owned by Townsquare Media as part of a cluster with news-talk station WIBX, classic rock-formatted WOUR, hot AC-formatted WLZW (Lite 98.7), and country-formatted WFRG (Big Frog 104). Froggy (brand)
Froggy is a brand name radio format used for a variety of radio stations in the United States, most of which broadcast a country music format, with a few playing adult contemporary. (There was, however, an oldies-themed "Froggy" in Erie, Pennsylvania: the former WFGO; that station has since changed format and calls in 2007. Another oldies-based Froggy station, KFGI in Austin, Texas, changed formats in 1994.) Although the frog logo is shared among these stations, most of them are not associated with one another. WUTI (1150 AM) was a radio station broadcasting a talk format. Licensed to Utica, New York, United States, the station, established in 1948 as WRUN, was last owned by Leatherstocking Media Group, Inc., and simulcast with WFBL in Syracuse until going off the air in 2013. History WUTI signed on April 24, 1948 as WRUN, under the ownership of the ''Rome Sentinel''. The ''Sentinel'' was concerned that the Utica-Rome area was not being served adequately by WIBX, which, at the time the paper applied for the construction permit in 1946, had a 250-watt signal incapable of reaching Rome at night; in contrast, WRUN, with its 5,000-watt signal, would have more of a regional reach. WUMX (102.5 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a hot adult contemporary format. Licensed to Rome, New York, United States, the station serves the Utica–Rome area. The station is owned by Galaxy Utica Licensee LLC, the Utica division of Galaxy Communications. Syndicated programming on WUMX include ''Elvis Duran and the Morning Show''. As WUUU 102.5 signed on in 1982 as WUUU, an adult contemporary station identified as "U-102" under the ownership of Norma Eilenberg. Danny Wright is a Seattle, Washington-based radio personality, The majority of his career and success was in the Cleveland, Ohio market, most notably at WGCL, where he was a Top-40 disc jockey known as "Dancin' Danny Wright." He departed WGCL when the station was sold by GCC Communications to Detroit, Michigan's Metropolis Broadcasting. New management was brought in and the station itself became WNCX, with a rock/ CHR hybrid format. While all of WGCL's personalities were let go, Wright's contract kept him from being bought out, so—due to his incompatibility with the new format—he was relegated to simply engineering the overnight shift for his remaining few weeks, with then-owner Harvey Deutsch referring to him as the "World's Highest Paid Board-Op."
