Laurel is a city in and the second county seat of Jones County, Mississippi, Jones County, Mississippi, United States. Taylorsville, Mississippi
Taylorsville is a town located in southeastern Smith County, Mississippi, United States. With a population of 1,353 in the 2010 census, the town is the second most populous city in Smith County, Mississippi. History Taylorsville was established on the Gulf and Ship Island Railroad in 1900. The site was selected by an employee of the railroad, and soon after a post office was built. The post office was originally located about five miles away in Old Taylorsville (now a community located off of Mississippi Highway 531), but was later moved to New Taylorsville. It was the moving of the post office to New Taylorsville that established the present location of the town. Soon after, the Old Stringer Hotel was built. Hattiesburg is a city in the U.S. state of Mississippi, located primarily in Forrest County (where it is the county seat and largest city) and extending west into Lamar County. The city population was 45,989 at the 2010 census, with the population now being 48,730 in 2020. WKZW (94.3 FM broadcasting, FM, "KZ-94.3") is a radio station city of license, licensed to serve the community of Sandersville, Mississippi, and serving the Laurel-Hattiesburg area. The station is owned by Blakeney Communications, Inc. It airs a hot adult contemporary radio format, music format. WKZW began operation July 7, 1975 as the FM sister station to WIZK. Paul Harvey Aurandt (September 4, 1918 – February 28, 2009) was an American radio broadcaster for ABC News Radio. He broadcast ''News and Comment'' on mornings and mid-days on weekdays and at noon on Saturdays and also his famous '' The Rest of the Story'' segments. From 1951 to 2008, his programs reached as many as 24 million people per week. ''Paul Harvey News'' was carried on 1,200 radio stations, on 400 American Forces Network stations, and in 300 newspapers. Early life Harvey was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was the son of a policeman who was killed by robbers in 1921. He made radio receivers as a young boy, and attended Tulsa Central High School, where he was two years ahead of future actor Tony Randall. Teacher Isabelle Ronan was "impressed by his voice." A radio format or programming format (not to be confused with broadcast programming) describes the overall content broadcast on a radio station.
