Waw/Vav ( "hook") is the sixth letter of the Semitic abjads, including Phoenician ''wāw'' , Aramaic ''waw'' , Hebrew '' waw/vav'' , Syriac ''waw'' ܘ and Arabic '' wāw'' (sixth in abjadi order; 27th in modern Arabic order). It represents the consonant in classical Hebrew, and in modern Hebrew, as well as the vowels and . In text with niqqud, a dot is added to the left or on top of the letter to indicate, respectively, the two vowel pronunciations. It is the origin of Greek Ϝ (digamma) and Υ (upsilon), Cyrillic У, Latin F and U and later Y, and the derived Latin- or Roman-alphabet letters V, and W. Archif Menywod Cymru / Women's Archive Wales (AMC/WAW) is a charity which works to identify and preserve resources for the study of women in the history of Wales. Its aims are defined as: "To identify and rescue materials relating to the lives of women in Wales past, present and future, and encourage their deposit in appropriate public repositories" and "To promote understanding of women’s roles in Welsh history, and the inclusion of women in history taught in schools and higher education." AMC/WAW's collections are held in county archives, the National Library of Wales, the National Museum of Wales, and university and other libraries. The VintageAirRally (also known as Vintage Air Rally) is a biennial vintage airplane rally across thousands of miles of challenging terrain, created by Prepare2go. The aim is to run rallies that are available to all, regardless of nationality, personal circumstances or any other factor.
