VintageAirRally
The VintageAirRally (also known as Vintage Air Rally) is a biennial vintage airplane rally across thousands of miles of challenging terrain, created by Prepare2go. The aim is to run rallies that are available to all, regardless of nationality, personal circumstances or any other factor. The Crete2Cape Edition (2016) The Crete2Cape edition of the VintageAirRally covered the Eastern side of the African continent, traversing Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Zanzibar, Zimbabwe, Botswana, & South Africa. The Rally ran from 12 November 2016 to 17 December 2016 covering over 8,000 miles. The Buzet Edition, Belgium (2017) The Belgian edition of the VintageAirRally ran around southern Belgium on 20 May 2017, and it is planned to have a third edition in 2021. Walmer is a town in Dover District, the district of Dover, Kent, in England. Located on the coast, the parish of Walmer is south-east of Sandwich, Kent. Knokke-Zoute Airfield
Knokke-Zoute Airfield is a former airfield, located 5 km east of Knokke-Heist in West Flanders, Belgium. It was closed in 1960 and is now in agricultural use. History Originally constructed in 1929 between Knokke and the Zwin natural reserve. Initially serving civilian aviation, both by private pilots and airlines such as Sabena, it became a Belgian Air Force field by the late 1930s. At the outbreak of the German invasion of Belgium in May 1940, it was home to 6e Escadrille (Squadron) of 3rd Group flying Fairey Foxes tasked with firing exercises over the North Sea. The squadron was evacuated prior to the airfield being attacked by the German Luftwaffe on 10 May. The Belgian Air Force ordered the field destroyed before it was seized by the German Army on 18 May. The Aircraft Manufacturing Company Limited (Airco) was an early United Kingdom, British aircraft manufacturer.
