History The station’s construction permit was issued on October 7, 1992 under the calls of W52BR. It changed to W25DW on July 7, 2008, to W25DW-D on March 8, 2011, and to W31EZ-D on October 27, 2020. The station was silent due to construction of the shared channel 31 facility, administered by WESV-LD; the two stations are sharing to resolve a mutual exclusivity in their applications. Almavision is an American television network broadcasting Christian programming in Spanish with affiliates across North and Central America. The network is carried via satellite on Echostar and SatMex 5, their slogan is "''Television Cristiana...a la manera de Dios. ''" ("Christian television... in God's way.") and "Comprometidos con la verdad" ("committed to the truth"). WPVN-CD (channel 24) is a low-powered, Class A television station in Chicago, Illinois, United States. The station is owned by HC2 Holdings. WPVN-CD's studios are located on West Belmont Avenue in northwest Chicago, and its transmitter is located atop the Trump International Hotel and Tower in downtown Chicago. History The station became a Retro TV affiliate for the Chicago television market on November 13, 2010 (through June 30, 2013), but the main purpose of the station is to relocate much of the ethnic programming removed by Weigel Broadcasting in December 2010 when they decided to end carrying it over to WCIU-DT6.
