Vyacheslav Sirin
Vyacheslav Sirin (; 3 September 1924 – 12 September 1970) was a Russian-born Estonian actor. He was born in Moscow. In 1948 he graduated from GITIS. From 1948 to 1970 he worked at the Russian Theatre, Tallinn, Russian Theatre in Tallinn. Besides stage roles he has also acted in films. GITIS
The Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS) (russian: Российский институт театрального искусства – ГИТИС) is the largest and oldest independent theatrical arts school in Russia. Located in Moscow, the school was founded on 22 September 1878 as the Shostakovsky Music School. It became the School of Music and Drama of the Moscow Philharmonic Society in 1883, was elevated to the status of a conservatory in 1886, was renamed the Institute of Music and Drama in 1918, and was known as the Lunacharsky State Institute for Theatre Arts (GITIS) from 1934 to 1991. The Russian Theatre (russian: Русский театр Эстонии, et, Vene Teater) is a Russian-language theatre in Tallinn, Estonia. It is housed in a building that was originally built as a cinema in 1926 and is in Art Deco style. A small Russian theatre community has existed in Tallinn since the late 19th century; it grew following the Russian Revolution when Russian actors settled in Estonia as refugees. A permanent Russian-language theatre was not set up in the city until 1948, however. During the Soviet occupation of Estonia, it was one of several Russian-language theatres of the Soviet Union and also toured around the whole country. Since Estonia re-gained its independence, the theatre has focused more on a local audience.
