Background and impact Vomitorial Corpulence started in 1992 as a vision of guitarist and vocalist Paul Green, but did not get moving until 1993, when he hired on bassist Mark Hamilton and drummer Alexander O'Neil. O'Neil quit in 1995 and was replaced by Christopher Valentine. O’Neil formed the unblack metal project Vomoth. The band recorded their debut album, ''Skin Stripper'', before going on hiatus for the first time. The album includes two bluegrass banjo tracks composed by Mike Keady. Grindcore
Grindcore is an extreme fusion genre of heavy metal and hardcore punk that originated in the mid-1980s, drawing inspiration from abrasive-sounding musical styles, such as thrashcore, crust punk, hardcore punk, extreme metal, and industrial. Grindcore is considered a more noise-filled style of hardcore punk while using hardcore's trademark characteristics such as heavily distorted, down-tuned guitars, grinding overdriven bass, high-speed tempo, blast beats, and vocals which consist of growls, shouts and high-pitched shrieks. Goregrind is a fusion genre of grindcore and death metal. British band Carcass are commonly credited for the emergence of the genre. Steve Rowe (born 19 January 1965) is the founder, bass guitarist, and vocalist of the Australian Christian death metal band Mortification which was considered to be a major pioneer in the genre. Prior to forming Mortification he was in a traditional heavy metal styled Christian band known as LightForce. He was diagnosed with leukemia in 1997, but made a full recovery. He is currently the owner and head of the Rowe Productions record label. In 2015, Rowe announced his retirement from Christian music. However, his career has continued, while Mortification has been inactive the members' side project, Wonrowe Vision, have remained active. Cryptal Darkness were an Australian doom metal band from Melbourne featuring Mark Kelson, now of The Eternal and InSomnius Dei and for a short period, former My Dying Bride/Cradle of Filth member, Martin Powell. History Cryptal Darkness started life as a grindcore/death metal band, that later changed styles and became doom metal band.
