Vitaliy Kim
Vitalii Oleksandrovych Kim ( uk, Віталій Олександрович Кім; born 13 March 1981) is a Ukrainian businessman and politician who has been the Governor of Mykolaiv Oblast since 2020. He is also head of the Mykolayiv Regional Military Administration. Biography Vitalii Oleksandrovych Kim was born on 13 March 1981 in Mykolaiv. His father, Oleksandr, is an honored basketball coach of Koryo-saram ancestry, and was a player on the Soviet Union youth team. Kim graduated from the Mykolaiv Gymnasium No. 2 and the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding with a degree in enterprise economics. In 1998, he began to engage in entrepreneurial activity. He was the managing partner of the Ushuaja entertainment complex. The Governor of Mykolaiv Oblast is the head of executive branch for the Mykolaiv Oblast. The office of Governor is an appointed position, with officeholders being appointed by the President of Ukraine, on recommendation from the Prime Minister of Ukraine, to serve a four-year term. Battle Of Mykolaiv
The battle of Mykolaiv was a battle which started on the night of 26 February 2022, as part of the southern Ukraine offensive during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. It ended in Russian forces being repulsed from the city in March, and by April all but a few of its surrounding villages were under Ukrainian control. Mykolaiv is a strategically important shipbuilding city on the Black Sea and on 4 March was "seen as the next key stepping-stone for Russian forces on the road to Odesa." Prelude During the afternoon hours of 26 February 2022, 12 Russian tanks managed to break through in Kakhovka on the Dnieper and began heading towards Mykolaiv.
