Visitdallas
VisitDallas, formerly known as the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau, is a 501(c)(6) contracted by the City of Dallas to market Dallas as a convention and tourist destination. In January 2019, the Government of Dallas released an audit uncovering evidence of misuse of taxpayer funds, mismanagement, and excessive executive compensation. In November 2019, IRS Form 13909 was filed against VisitDallas calling for a public investigation by the Internal Revenue Service and Texas Attorney General. Early controversies In 2002, it was revealed the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau(DCVB), previous name of VisitDallas, was engaged in questionable spending such as spending money on expensive golf trips, paid excessive salaries, paying for expensive liquor tabs, using limos for travel to and from the airport, and going on regular trips to local strip clubs all paid for by the DCVB. Eric Johnson (Texas Politician)
Eric Lynn Johnson (born October 10, 1975) is an American politician and attorney who has served as the 60th Mayor of Dallas, Texas since June 2019. He previously served as a Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives, where he represented District 100 in the cities of Dallas and Mesquite, Texas. Early life and education Johnson was born on October 10, 1975, in Dallas, Texas. He attended Dallas ISD schools until the second grade, when he received a scholarship to attend Greenhill School through the West Dallas Boys & Girls Club. A 501(c) organization is a nonprofit organization in the federal law of the United States according to Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. § 501(c)) and is one of over 29 types of nonprofit organizations exempt from some federal income taxes. Clay Jenkins
Clay Lewis Jenkins (born 1964) is an American lawyer and politician. In 2011, he began serving as county judge for Dallas County, Texas. Early life and education Jenkins was born in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas, Texas to JoAnn and Alvah Clayburn Lewis Jr. His mother was an active member of the Texas Democratic Party and had served as a state delegate from 1978. After graduating from Waxahachie High School, Jenkins enrolled at Baylor University. While at Baylor University, Jenkins was arrested twice, once for reckless driving, and a second time for trespassing into a women's dorm. After receiving his undergraduate degree, Jenkins attended Baylor Law School and graduated with a Juris Doctor degree. Plano, Texas
Plano ( ) is a city in Collin County, Texas, Collin County and Denton County, Texas, United States. It had a population of 285,494 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. Facilities such as a sawmill, a gristmill, and a store soon brought more people to the area.
