Villas-Bôas Brothers
Orlando (1914–2002) and his brothers Cláudio (1916–1998) and Leonardo Villas-Bôas (1918–1961) were Brazilian brothers who worked in indigenous activism. In 1961 they succeeded in getting the entire upper Xingu legally protected, making it the first massive indigenous area in all South America, and the prototype for dozens of similar reserves all over the continent. Pioneers The explorer John Hemming wrote that the Villas-Bôas were pioneers in many ways. They were almost the first non-missionaries to live permanently with the natives; and they treated them as their equals and friends. They persuaded tribes to end internecine feuds and unite to confront the encroaching settlement frontier. The Villas-Bôas were the first to appreciate the value of politics and the media in furthering the indigenous cause. They also devised a policy of "change, but only at the speed the Indians want". Brazilians ( pt, Brasileiros, ) are the citizens of Brazil. Krieau (Vienna U-Bahn)
Krieau is a station on of the Vienna underground railway (U-Bahn) network. It is located in the Leopoldstadt district of the city, and is the station that serves both Messe Wien as well as the new campus of the Vienna University of Economics and Business. It opened in 2008. Krieau Station was originally to be named ''Trabrennstraße'', but the planned name was changed in 2006, two years before the station opened. Xingu (film)
''Xingu'' is a 2011 Brazilian drama film directed by Cao Hamburger and scripted by him, Elena Soárez and Anna Muylaert. Starring João Miguel, Felipe Camargo and Caio Blat, the film tells the Villas-Bôas brothers trajectory from the moment in which they joined the Roncador-Xingu expedition, part of the Westward March of Getúlio Vargas, in 1943. It was shot in Tocantins, Xingu National Park, and in the Greater São Paulo. The film was exhibited for the first time in 2011, at the 8th Amazonas Film Festival. The official premiere took place on April 6, 2012. The film was watched by about 370,000 spectators and has raised more than four million reals in box office. Carlos Império Hamburger, better known as Cao Hamburger (; born 27 February 1962), is a Brazilian film and television director, screenwriter, and producer. He is one of the creators of the ''Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum'' series of programs for children in the TV Cultura of São Paulo, along with Flávio de Souza, which gave origin to a successful movie with the same title.
