Viktor Lebedev
Viktor Nikolaevich Lebedev (russian: Виктор Николаевич Лебедев; born March 10, 1988, in Tomponskiy Ulus) is a Russian freestyle wrestler from the Sakha Republic, two time World Champion, multiple international tournaments winner. He won the gold medal at the 2015 Summer European Games in the Freestyle men's 57 kg weight category. Lebedev competed out of the СSKA wrestling club in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. He is a three-time world medalist, including two title-winning performances in the 55 kg weight class at the 2010 and 2011 World Wrestling Championships. On 17 June 2015 he won the gold medal for wrestling in the 57 kilogram range at the 2015 European Games in Baku. In October 2019, he was appointed Director General of Sakha Republic's state-owned fuel supply corporation, Sakhaneftegazsbyt (АО «Саханефтегазсбыт»). The men's freestyle 57 kg is a competition featured at the 2016 Russian National Freestyle Wrestling Championships, and was held in Yakutsk, Russia on May 27. 2016 Russian National Freestyle Wrestling Championships
The Russian National Freestyle Wrestling Championships 2016 were held in Yakutsk, Sakha-Yakutia, Russia in the Triumph Arena from 27 to 29 May 2016. Incident between Lebedev and Musukaev At the end of the 57 kg quarterfinal wrestling match between Lebedev and Musukaev the referees awarded the victory to Viktor Lebedev. However, after the match the Russian Championships wrestling commission considered mistakes of the referee and awarded the victory to Ismail Musukaev (4-2). Even so, Lebedev remained in the semifinals. After the incident, the Dagestani team walked out, along with others, including many members of Chechen team. In the 57 kg final, following another controversial victory for Lebedev over Aleksandr Bogomoev, the commission decided award gold medals to both. European Wrestling Championships
The European Wrestling Championships is the second oldest international wrestling competition of the modern world and the main wrestling championships in Europe. It predates World Wrestling Championships and other regional wrestling championships and is second only to the wrestling events at the Olympics. From its inception in 1898 till 1927 only Greco-Roman wrestling was contested. Since 1929 separate freestyle wrestling events were held as well. Since 1970 the two Olympic wrestling styles were contested together during the same unified events. Since 1973 Sambo wrestling was included into the championships programme along with GR and freestyle wrestling (subsequently discontinued and from 1983 contested separately). Since 2014 associated traditional wrestling styles recognized globally by UWW were incorporated into the annual championships schedule.
