''Veteran'' is the second studio album by American rapper Barrington DeVaughn Hendricks, known by his stage name as JPEGMafia. It was released on January 19, 2018, by Deathbomb Arc & Republic Records A music video for "Baby I'm Bleeding" was released on December 1, 2017. A second video was released on May 18, 2018 for "Real Nega". On September 12, 2018, a video for "1539 N. Calvert" was released. The album was released to widespread critical acclaim and was featured in numerous year-end lists; in 2019, '' Pitchfork'' listed it at number 171 in their list of best albums of the decade. Recording Most of ''Veteran'' was recorded while JPEGMafia was living in Baltimore and was mixed and mastered when he moved to Los Angeles in mid 2017. Trap Music
Trap is a subgenre of hip hop music that originated in the Southern United States during the 1990s. The genre gets its name from the Atlanta slang word "trap", a house used exclusively to sell drugs. Trap music uses synthesized drums and is characterized by complex hi-hat patterns, tuned kick drums with a long decay (originally from the Roland TR-808 drum machine), and lyrical content that often focuses on drug use and urban violence. Punk rap is hip hop music influenced by the rebellious ethos, and sometimes musical characteristics, of punk rock. Clipping (stylized as clipping.) is an American experimental hip hop group from Los Angeles, California. The group consists of rapper Daveed Diggs and producers William Hutson and Jonathan Snipes.
