''Veckatimest'' () is the third studio album by American rock band Grizzly Bear, released on May 26, 2009, by Warp Records. The album is named after Veckatimest Island, a small island in Dukes County, Massachusetts. Produced by bassist and multi-instrumentalist Chris Taylor, the album entered the US ''Billboard'' 200 at #8, selling 33,000 copies in its first week of release. By September 2012, the album had sold around 220,000 copies in the US. In 2010. It was awarded a gold certification from the Independent Music Companies Association which indicated sales of at least 100,000 copies throughout Europe. The album was also included in the 2011 edition of the book ''1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die''. Grizzly Bear is an American rock band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2002. Written and recorded following a six-month hiatus from band activities, the album was produced by bassist and multi-instrumentalist Chris Taylor. Preceded by the singles, " Sleeping Ute" and " Yet Again", an expanded version of ''Shields'', entitled ''Shields Expanded'', was released on November 12, 2013, featuring additional tracks recorded during the sessions, demo recordings and remixes. Nico Asher Muhly (; born August 26, 1981) is an American contemporary classical music composer and arranger who has worked and recorded with both classical and pop musicians. A prolific composer, he has composed for many notable symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles and has had two operas commissioned by the Metropolitan Opera. Daniel Raphael Rossen (born August 5, 1982) is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He is best known as the guitarist and co-lead vocalist of the indie rock band Grizzly Bear, with whom he has recorded four studio albums. Rossen is also a member of Department of Eagles, and released a solo EP, '' Silent Hour/Golden Mile'', in 2012. His debut solo studio album, '' You Belong There'', was released in 2022. Christopher Taylor (born August 29, 1981) is an American multi-instrumentalist and record producer. He is best known as the bass guitarist, backing vocalist and producer of the Brooklyn-based indie rock band Grizzly Bear, with whom he has recorded four studio albums. Taylor also records solo material under the moniker CANT, releasing his debut album, '' Dreams Come True'', in 2011. Glen Tonche is an estate atop Mount Tonche, in Ulster County, near Shokan, New York. The estate's house was built in 1928 as the summer family compound of American businessman Raymond Pitcairn, whose family founded PPG Industries. Since 1999 the property has been the location of Allaire Studios, a recording facility. Design Under Pitcairn ownership the compound on was largely made up of two main wings connected by a covered walkway. The balance of Mount Tonche over is under restrictive preservation.
