Varvara Filiou
Varvara Filiou (Greek: Βαρβάρα Φίλιου; born December 29, 1994, in Attiki, Greece) is a retired Greek individual rhythmic gymnast and coach. She is an eight-time (2008-2016) Greek National All-around Champion. She is one of Greece's most successful rhythmic gymnasts. Personal life Filiou's mother Eleonora Marinova is a former Bulgarian rhythmic gymnast and also competed at national level in Greece gymnastics. Filiou took up rhythmic gymnastics at age seven. Career Filiou has been a member of the Greek National gymnastics team since 2008 and made her senior debut in 2010. She spends part-time of her training season in Novogorsk in Moscow, Russia. She has competed at the 2010 World Championships in Moscow where she finished 41st in qualifications and at the 2011 World Championships in Montpellier, France where she qualified for the All-around finals and finished 23rd. 2013 Summer Universiade
The 2013 Summer Universiade, officially known as the XXVII Summer Universiade (russian: XXVII Летняя Универсиада), was held in the city of Kazan, Russia, the most northerly city ever to host a Summer Universiade. Over 10,400 university athletes from 162 countries participated in 13 mandatory and 14 optional sports, making the 2013 Universiade the biggest ever in the history of the event. For the first time in history a Cultural Universiade was also included, with many festivals and shows held simultaneously with the sporting events. Rhythmic Gymnastics Grand Prix Series
The Rhythmic Gymnastics Grand Prix is an annual competition of tournaments in rhythmic gymnastics open to athletes from all over the globe. The series consists of a number of stages, culminating in the final event, usually referred to as ''Grand Prix Final''. The Grand Prix circuit usually hosts some of the most watched yearly events in rhythmic gymnastics, frequently gathering some of the best gymnasts in the world. 2012 Gymnastics Olympic Test Event
The 2012 Gymnastics Olympic Test Event took place between January 10 and January 18, 2012. The event featured the artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline disciplines. It qualified the last four artistic gymnastics teams for the 2012 Olympic Games, along with 34 individual female gymnasts and 27 individual male gymnasts selected through the all-around competition. Teams that finished 17th to 24th at the 2011 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships were able to take two individuals to the test event. Teams that finished 1st to 8th were invited to send two individual gymnasts, but they were not candidates for individual spots. The rhythmic gymnastics event, too, qualified four teams for the 2012 Olympic Games. Ganna Rizatdinova
Hanna Serhiivna RizatdinovaAlternatively spelled as ''Ganna Rizatdinova'' or ''Anna Rizatdinova''. ( ua, Ганна Сергіївна Різатдінова; born 16 July 1993) is a Ukrainian individual rhythmic gymnast. In the all-around event, she is the 2016 Olympic bronze medalist, a two-time World All-around medalist (silver in 2013, bronze in 2014), and a two-time (2014, 2016) European All-around bronze medalist. Career Rizatdinova started to train gymnastics in Simferopol and was coached by her mother Oksana Rizatdinova. She won the silver all-around medal at the 2008 Kyiv Junior World Cup behind Russian gymnast Daria Dmitrieva. She was part of the Ukraine team that won bronze at the 2008 European Junior Championships in Torino.
