Valley Transit is a city bus and paratransit commission operated by the city government of Appleton, Wisconsin. It has operated as a bus system since 1930, and has been fully operated by the city since 1978. The system operates across the Fox Cities and serves the cities of Appleton, Kaukauna, Menasha, and Neenah, as well as the towns of Buchanan and Grand Chute; and the villages of Fox Crossing, Darboy, Kimberly, and Little Chute. It connects with Oshkosh's GO Transit system via Route 10. Through an agreement with the Appleton Area School District. Valley Transit allows all students enrolled in an AASD middle/high school to ride the bus unlimited for free during the school year. Valley Transit is a public transit operator in Walla Walla County, Washington. It operates 10 routes in the cities of Walla Walla and College Place. History Valley Transit was founded as the Walla Walla County Public Transportation Benefit Area in 1979, becoming the county's public transportation benefit area. A 0.3 percent sales tax was approved by voters on March 18, 1980, allowing for service to begin on January 5, 1981. In its first year of operation, the system carried 435,500 passengers. GO Transit, formerly the Oshkosh Transit System, is the primary provider of mass transportation in Winnebago County, Wisconsin. History Transit service in Oshkosh began in June 1882 when the Oshkosh Street Railway Company began operating six horse-drawn cars on 4.5 miles of track. Over the years, this system was expanded and in 1897, electric streetcars replaced the horse-drawn cars. In the 1920's buses began to replace streetcars, and the last streetcar ran on May 31, 1930. In 1933, Oshkosh City Lines, Inc. assumed operation of urban buses in Oshkosh and in 1962 City Transit Lines took over operations. City-owned Oshkosh Transit Service began in 1978, following the takeover of the struggling private City Transit Lines. Nine routes serve the city from Monday through Saturday. Green Bay Metro (originally known as Green Bay Transit prior to 2001) is the mass transit system found in the city of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Oshkosh is a city in Winnebago County, Wisconsin, of which it is the county seat. The city had a population of 66,816 in 2020, making it the ninth-largest city in Wisconsin. The Orion VII was a line of low-floor transit buses available in 30' rigid, 35' rigid, and 40' rigid lengths manufactured by Orion Bus Industries between 2001 and 2013 in three generations. The conventional powered buses, either with longitudinally-mounted diesel or natural gas engines, used a T-drive transmission coupling.
