Vaevictis Esports
Vaevictis Esports is a Russian esports organization with teams competing in ''League of Legends'', ''Point Blank'', '' PlayerUnknown's Battleground'', and ''Warface''. It was founded on 16 November 2015 after the acquisition of the roster and ''League of Legends'' Continental League spot of Night Inside. The organization received international attention in early 2019, when it became the first to sign an all-female ''League of Legends'' team to compete in a top-level professional league. The team had record poor performances throughout the 2019 season, and Vaevictis was consequently removed from the league the following year for not fielding a competitive roster. The ''League of Legends'' Continental League (LCL; ) is the top level of professional ''League of Legends'' competition in the Commonwealth of Independent States, organized by Riot Games Russia. It replaced the SLTV StarSeries that was organized by StarLadder in 2016. There are eight teams in the league. Each annual season of play is divided into two splits, spring and summer, both consisting of five weeks of double round-robin tournament play, which then conclude with a play-off single elimination tournament between the top four teams.
