Våler (village)
Våler or Vålbyen is the administrative center of Våler Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village lies along the river Glomma, about northwest of the village of Flisa and about southeast of the town of Elverum. The Norwegian National Road 2 and the Solørbanen railway line both run through the village. The village of Braskereidfoss lies about to the north of this village. Glomma
The Glomma, or Glåma, is Norway's longest and most voluminous river. With a total length of , it has a drainage basin that covers fully 13% of Norway's surface area, all in the southern part of the country. Geography At its fullest length, the river runs from the lake Aursund near Røros in Trøndelag and runs into the Oslofjord at Fredrikstad. Major tributaries include the Vorma River, which drains Lake Mjøsa, joining the Glomma River at Årnes in Nes. The Lågen drains into Lake Mjøsa, collecting drainage from the large Gudbrandsdalen and significantly increasing the Glomma's flow. Haslemoen Airstrip
Haslemoen Airstrip ( no, Haslemoen flyplass) is a recreational airfield situated at Haslemoen in the village of Våler in Våler Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. Since 2003 the aerodrome only features a grass runway used mostly by ultralight aircraft and general aviation aircraft. This is located next to a closed formerly military runway. The field was planned by the Norwegian Army Air Service as a main air station during the late 1930s, but the plans were stopped by the outbreak of the Second World War. Haslemoen was built as a labor camp in 1943 and then taken over by Luftwaffe, who built the airport. Opening in August 1944, its main purpose was to station a squadron of Focke-Wulf Fw 200 Condors. Haslemoen was rebuilt and opened as the base of the Artillery Battalion in 1955. Operations resumed in 1960 with the delivery of Cessna O-1 Bird Dog observation aircraft. Våler Church
Våler Church ( no, Våler kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Våler Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the village of Våler. It is the church for the Våler parish which is part of the Solør, Vinger og Odal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Hamar. The beige, wooden church was built in a fan-shaped design in 2015 using plans drawn up by the architect Espen Surnevik. The church seats about 350 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1394, but the church was not new that year. The first church in Våler was a wooden post church. According to tradition, the church was likely built during the 11th century, not long after Saint Olaf brought Christianity to the region in the year 1022. Kunnskapsforlaget () is a Norwegian publishing company based in Oslo. Kunnskapsforlaget was established in 1975, as a partnership between H. Aschehoug & Co. (W. Nygaard) and Gyldendal Norsk Forlag. Elverum (town)
is a town in Elverum Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The town is the administrative centre of the municipality. It is located in the western part of the municipality along the river Glomma, about east of the town of Hamar. The town is the regional centre for commerce and industry for the middle Østerdalen valley and the northern part of Solør. The old village of Elverum has grown over the years and in 1996, the municipal council granted Elverum town status. The town has a population (2021) of 15,301 and a population density of .
