Vyznanie
"Vyznanie" (in English transcribed as "Why (Must I Always Fail)?", respectively also known as "Declaration") is a song by the female singer Marika Gombitová released on OPUS in 1979. The composition written by Janko Lehotský, in common with Kamil Peteraj, is referred to as her masterpiece receiving several awards. Including the Silver award at the Bratislavská lýra '79 in the contest of the Czechoslovak songwriters. At the 4th Intervision Song Festival contest in Sopot, Poland the following year, the song won the first prize for the Best Performance in the category representing record companies. Most recently, the single was voted by the TV audience as ''Hit storočia'' ( en, Hit of the Century) in Slovakia, followed by the tribute program ''Vyznanie pre Mariku'' ( en, A Confession for Marika) broadcast by Slovak Television on December 23, 2007. Marika Gombitová
Marika Gombitová (; born 12 September 1956) is a Slovak singer-songwriter and musician. Once a member of Modus, Gombitová started to gain early acclaim as a former female vocalist of the group. Nevertheless, she gradually developed her public image as a solo artist, making own debut on short play in 1977. Subsequently, after topping the local music charts with " Študentská láska" (1978), her debut set entitled '' Dievča do dažďa'' (1979) saw its eventual results on OPUS Records. The album's lead " Vyznanie", earned several music awards; most notably at the 4th Intervision Song Contest held in Poland (1980). In years to come later, the love anthem was to be celebrated as "The Hit of the Century" (2007) in her country. Shortly before launching the second LP, '' Môj malý príbeh'' (1981), her career was adversely affected by a single-car crash. Modus (band)
Modus was a popular Slovak band, originally established in 1967 by Stanislav Hrda, Ján Baláž, Peter Krutek, Juraj Czinege, Tomáš Bery Psota, Ľubomír Stankovský, Gabriel Wertlen and Miroslav Žbirka in the former Czechoslovakia. The formation (identified nowadays as ''Modus 0'') initially played cover versions of the 60's hits. A major change followed after the arrival of Ján Lehotský who joined the ensemble in 1972, and became their leader. The years 1976-80, which included albums '' Modus'' (1979) and '' Balíček snov'' (1980), referred to as ''Modusmania'', denoted the band's stardom era. "Študentská láska" ( en, Student Love) is a song by the female singer Marika Gombitová released on OPUS in 1978. The composition written by Pavol Hammel and Kamil Peteraj won the Golden award at the Bratislavská lýra '78 in both held competitions. In the contest of the Czechoslovak authors, as well as in the international competition. Initially, the song was released in an instrumental version performed by the Orchester of Jozef Vobruba on the vinyl sampler set ''OPUS Club '02'' followed by the gramophone record of the most Slovak popular songs of 1978 entitled ''OPUS '78''. The Forest Opera ( pl, Opera Leśna, german: Waldoper) is an open-air amphitheatre located in Sopot, Poland, with a capacity of 5047 seats, the orchestra pit can contain up to 110 musicians. Sopot International Song Festival
The Sopot International Song Festival or Sopot Festival (later called ''Sopot Music Festival Grand Prix'', ''Sopot Top of the Top Festival'' from 2012–13 and ''Polsat Sopot Festival'' in 2014) is an annual international song contest held in Sopot, Poland.
