Syanno or Senno ( be, Сянно; russian: Сенно́; pl, Sienno; lt, Siano) is a city in Vitebsk Region, Belarus. It is southwest of Vitebsk on the southern shore of Senno Lake. As of the 2018, the population was 7,092. History The village is first mentioned in a document of 1442. Fairs were held there, and a lively hay market gave it its name (russian: сено ''seno'' 'hay'). Alexey Alexeyevich Prokurorov (russian: Алексе́й Алексе́евич Прокуро́ров; 25 March 1964 – 10 October 2008) was a Soviet Union, Soviet/Russian cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skier who competed in the late 1980s and 1990s for both the Soviet Union and Russia. Career Prokurorov was born in the village of Mishino, Vladimir Oblast, Mishino of Vladimir Oblast, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. Prokurorov's biggest successes were winning the gold medal in the 30 km freestyle and the silver medal in the 4 × 10 km relay at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. Igor Gayniachmetovich Badamshin (russian: Игоръ Гайниахметович Бадамшин) (June 12, 1966 – January 24, 2014) was a Soviet/Russian cross-country skier who competed from 1989 to 1997. He won a bronze medal in the 4 × 10 km relay at the 1993 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun and earned his best individual finishes of 5th twice at the world championships (1989: 50 km, 1993: 30 km). Badamashin's best individual finish at the Winter Olympics was 14th at the 50 km event in 1994. His best finish was second place three times, earning it once in 1989 and twice in 1996. Mikhail Viktorovich Botvinov (russian: Михаил Викторович Ботвинов); born 17 November 1967 in Lidinka, Soviet Union) is a Russian-born Austrian cross-country skier who competed from 1990 to 2007 for both Russia (until 1996) and Austria (since 1997). The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1997 took place from February 21 to March 2 at Granåsen Ski Centre in Trondheim, Norway. The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1993 took place 19–28 February 1993 in Falun, Sweden, for the third time (1954, 1974). This event saw the creation of the combined pursuit where competitors would skate one distance in the classical interval style (10 km: men, 5 km: women) one day, then follow the next day in the freestyle pursuit (15 km: men, 10 km: women) with the first distance winner going first in the pursuit. Race summary The opening leg in Nagano was a surprise with Germany leading, and Norway in 10th place, as Sture Sivertsen hit the wall at eight kilometers. After the 1st exchange Finland was third and Italy fourth, but the margin was less than 20 seconds to Finland. On the second leg Erling Jevne pulled Norway up to second, still trailing Italy and Fulvio Valbusa by 12 seconds. Norway sent out Bjørn Dæhlie on the third leg, and he made up ground on Fabio Maj.
