Vugar Mursal Alakbarov ( az, Vüqar Mursal Ələkbərov; born 5 January 1981) is an Azerbaijani boxer. Alakbarov competed in the middleweight class (−75 kg) at the 2000 Summer Olympics and won the bronze medal. At the 2004 Summer Olympics he was eliminated in the quarter final in the heavyweight class. He qualified for the 2004 Summer Olympics by ending up in first place at the 2nd AIBA European 2004 Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Warsaw, Poland. Vugar Bayramov ( az, Vüqar Bayramov) (born June 13, 1975, Fuzuli District, Azerbaijan SSR) is an economist and the member of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan since 2020. Early life Vugar Bayramov was born on 13 June 1975, in Ashagi Guzlak village in Fuzuli District of Azerbaijan SSR. Firstly, he went to Ashagi Rafadinli village secondary school, then continued at Bunyad Sardarov secondary school of Fuzuli region. He graduated from Physics and Mathematics School in Baku. Bayramov was admitted to Azerbaijan State University of Economics in 1992, and in 1997 he proceeded to the post-graduate school of the same university. He received a Ph.D. in economics in 2002. Vugar Gasim oghlu Hashimov ( az, Vüqar Qasım oğlu Həşimov; 24 July 1986 – 11 January 2014), known internationally as Vugar Gashimov , was an Azerbaijani chess grandmaster. He was a noted player of blitz chess. At his peak ranking, he was No. 6 in the world, achieved in November 2009. He won the Athens 2005 ( Acropolis International), and tied for first at the Cappelle-la-Grande open in 2007, he again tied for first and was winning it on tie-break in 2008. Vugar Nariman oglu Orujov ( az, Vüqar Nəriman oğlu Orucov, russian: Оруджев Вугар Нариман оглы, born 26 October 1971 in Baku, Azerbaijani SSR, Soviet Union) is a Russian two-time freestyle wrestling world champion and an Olympic bronze medalist of Azerbaijani heritage. He competed in both the 1992 Summer Olympics, where he competed for the Unified Team at the Olympics, Unified Team, and the 1996 Summer Olympics, taking third and fourth respectively. He is currently a head coach at Nassau Community College in East Garden City, New York, East Garden City, New York. He has three sons.
