Vrpolje () is a village and a municipality in Brod-Posavina County, Croatia. It is located 10 km south of Đakovo Đakovo (; hu, Diakovár) is a town in the region of Slavonia, Croatia. Strizivojna–Vrpolje railway station ( hr, Željeznička stanica Strizivojna–Vrpolje) is a railway station on Novska–Tovarnik railway. Located between two settlement Strizivojna and Vrpolje. Railroad continued to Andrijevci in one, in the other direction to Stari Mikanovci, in third direction to Đakovo and the fourth direction towards to Kopanica–Beravci. Brod-Posavina County
Brod-Posavina County ( hr, Brodsko-posavska županija) is the southern Slavonian county in Croatia. Its center is the city of Slavonski Brod and it spreads along the left bank of the Sava river, hence the name ''Posavina''. Other notable towns include Nova Gradiška. Đakovo
Đakovo (; hu, Diakovár) is a town in the region of Slavonia, Croatia. Đakovo is the centre of the fertile and rich Đakovo region ( hr, Đakovština ). Etymology The etymology of the name is the gr, διάκος (diákos) in Slavic form đak (pupil). The Hungarian ''diák'' word has the same Greek origin and as such it's uncertain whether the name came directly from Greek or via Hungarian or local Slavic form. History In Roman antiquity the settlement ''Certissia'' stood on the same spot until it disappeared during the Migration Period. The settlement's first mention in historical documents dates from 1239 when Béla IV of Hungary granted it to the Diocese of Bosnia ( la, Dioecesis Bosniensis), and the Bishop moved his seat here in 1246. Slavonia
Slavonia (; hr, Slavonija) is, with Dalmatia, Croatia proper, and Istria, one of the four historical regions of Croatia.
