Vrelo (river)
Vrelo ( sr-Cyrl, Врело) is a right tributary of the river Drina in the settlement of Perućac, Bajina Bašta Municipality in Serbia. The river is only 365 meters long and is probably one of the shortest rivers in the world. Course The stream springs out of a large rock. It forms a small waterfall and then flows mostly slow, with crystal clear water. After it passes under the concrete bridge, it rapids over the natural obstacles made of rocks and tree roots. It fastens, starts to resound and foam, before it reached the waterfall and falls into the Drina. Characteristics Due to its length (same number of meters as days per year), many call it the "Godina" ( sr-Cyrl, Година, lit=year) and say it's one year long. Perućac ( sr-cyr, Перућац) is a village in western Serbia, in the municipality of Bajina Bašta. A karst spring or karstic spring is a spring (outflow of groundwater) that is part of a karst hydrological system. The Drina ( sr-Cyrl, Дрина, ) is a long Balkans river, which forms a large portion of the border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. It is the longest tributary of the Sava River and the longest karst river in the Dinaric Alps which belongs to the Danube river watershed. Bajina Bašta
Bajina Bašta ( sr-cyr, Бајина Башта, ) is a town and municipality located in the Zlatibor District of western Serbia. The town lies in the valley of the Drina river at the eastern edge of Tara National Park. The population of the town, according to 2011 census, is 9,148 inhabitants, while the municipality has 25,724 inhabitants. History In 1834 Bajina Bašta was established on the remains of the old Turkish community of Pljeskovo which was situated on the right bank of the Drina River between the Rača and Pilica Rivers, under the east foothills of Tara Mountain. Drainage basins All rivers in Serbia belong to the drainage basins of three seas: Black Sea, Adriatic Sea or Aegean Sea. The largest in area, Black Sea drainage basin, covers an area of 81,261 km2 or 92% of the territory of Serbia.
