Volovets ( uk, Воловець, hu, Volóc, , russian: Воловец, sk, Volovec) is an urban-type settlement in Mukachevo Raion of Zakarpattia Oblast (region) in western Ukraine. Volovets was the administrative center of Volovets Raion (district) until 2020, housing the district's local administration buildings. The town's population was 5,178 as of the 2001 Ukrainian Census. Volovets Raion ( uk, Воловецький район) was a raion of Zakarpattia Oblast in western Ukraine. Its administrative center was the urban-type settlement of Volovets. The raion was abolished and its territory was merged into Mukachevo Raion on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Zakarpattia Oblast to six. The Zakarpattia Oblast ( uk, Закарпатська область, Zakarpatska oblast) is an administrative oblast located in western Ukraine, mostly coterminous with the historical region of Carpathian Ruthenia. Paragliding
Paragliding is the recreational and competitive adventure sport of flying paragliders: lightweight, free-flying, foot-launched glider aircraft with no rigid primary structure. Lemkos
Lemkos ( rue, Лeмкы, translit= Lemkŷ; pl, Łemkowie; uk, Лемки, translit=Lemky) are an ethnic group inhabiting the Lemko Region ( rue, Лемковина, translit=Lemkovyna; uk, Лемківщина, translit=Lemkivshchyna) of Carpathian Rus', an ethnographic region in the Carpathian Mountains and foothills spanning Ukraine, Slovakia and Poland. Their affiliation with other ethnicities is controversial. Some Lemkos consider their ethnos to be a sub-group of Rusyns (also called Carpatho-Rusyns or Carpatho-Ruthenians).
