Arvo Volmer
Arvo Volmer (born November 4, 1962 in Tallinn) is an Estonian conductor. Volmer was principal conductor of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra from 1993 to 2001. From 2004 to 2013 he was Chief Conductor and Music Director of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and in 2014 was appointed Principal Guest Conductor and Artistic Advisor. The ''Adelaide Review'' wrote that Volmer's tenure as Chief Conductor saw the orchestra "improve out of all proportion and enter an unprecedented period of ascendancy". From 2004 to 2012, Volmer combined his Adelaide duties with the posts of music director and principal conductor of the Estonian National Opera in Tallinn. He has also been guest conductor of many orchestras, especially in Scandinavia. Among his recordings are the complete orchestral works of Leevi Madetoja and the complete symphonies of Eduard Tubin and Jean Sibelius. Joost Gerardus Bernard Volmer (born 7 March 1974), simply known as Joost Volmer, is a retired Dutch footballer. Max Volmer
Max Volmer (; 3 May 1885 – 3 June 1965) was a German physical chemist, who made important contributions in electrochemistry, in particular on electrode kinetics. He co-developed the Butler–Volmer equation. Volmer held the chair and directorship of the Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry Institute of the Technische Hochschule Berlin, in Berlin-Charlottenburg. After World War II, he went to the Soviet Union, where he headed a design bureau for the production of heavy water. Upon his return to East Germany ten years later, he became a professor at the Humboldt University of Berlin and was president of the East German Academy of Sciences. Priit Volmer (born 6 September 1978 in Tartu) is an Estonian opera singer (Bass (voice type), bass). Priit Volmer's father was singer and actor Peeter Volmer. In 2000, he graduated from Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in singing speciality. 1998–2000, he was an opera chorus artist in Vanemuine Theatre, and 2000–2004 in Estonian National Opera. 2004–2013, he was a soloist in Estonian National Opera. Ron Volmer
Ronald "Ron" Lloyd Volmer (born November 22, 1935) is an American water polo player who competed in the 1960 Summer Olympics. He broke a world swimming record for the 50 yard butterfly and held that record for approximately 15 minutes. He was born in Downey, California. Volmer was a water polo players for UC Berkeley while a student there. He obtained a medical degree from Berkeley and practiced as an optometrist in Manhattan Beach, California. He was married to Judith Hodge (Volmer) and had three children Dana, Brian, and Wendy. Volmer was a member of the American water polo team which finished seventh in the 1960 tournament. He played four matches and scored four goals.
