Vodmat

It is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region. Geography Vodmat lies immediately east of the historical center of Ljubljana, south of the railroad to Moste, on either side of the railroad to Lower Carniola, and extending past the Ljubljanica River to the south, into the area north of the Gruber Canal, encompassing the Kodeljevo neighborhood and Kodeljevo Castle ( sl, Kodeljev grad, german: Thurn an der Laibach). The Moste District (; sl, Četrtna skupnost Moste), or simply Moste, is a district () of the City Municipality of Ljubljana. It encompasses the east-central part of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It is named after the former village of Moste. 1895 Ljubljana Earthquake
An earthquake struck Ljubljana, the capital and largest city of Carniola, a crown land of Austria-Hungary and the capital of modern-day Slovenia, on Easter Sunday, 14 April 1895. It was the most, and the last, destructive earthquake in the area. Earthquake With a Richter magnitude of 6.1 and a maximum Mercalli Intensity of VIII–IX, the earthquake struck at 20:17 UTC (22:17 local time). The earthquake's epicentre was located in Janče, about to the east of the Ljubljana downtown. The focus was deep. The shock was felt in a circle with a radius of and an area of , reaching as far away as Assisi, Florence, Vienna, and Split. More than 100 aftershocks followed in the next ten days. Ljubljanica
The Ljubljanica (), known in the Middle Ages as the ''Sava'', is a river in the southern part of the Ljubljana Basin in Slovenia. The capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, lies on the river. The Ljubljanica rises south of the town of Vrhnika and flows into the Sava River about downstream from Ljubljana. Its largest affluent is the Mali Graben Canal.
