Heger's Cabinet
The Cabinet of Eduard Heger was the 12th government of Slovakia, led by Prime Minister Eduard Heger. It was originally a four-party majority coalition government composed of Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO), We Are Family, Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) and For the People. Following a coalition crisis in summer 2022, SaS left the government, which resulted in a minority government. The Cabinet was appointed by the President of Slovakia Zuzana Čaputová on 1 April 2021 and was approved by the National Council on 4 May 2021. It was formed after the previous Prime Minister Igor Matovič and his government had resigned, ending a month-long coalition crisis which started because of a controversial Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine purchase by Matovič. Zuzana Čaputová
Zuzana Čaputová, (; Strapáková; born 21 June 1973) is a Slovak politician, lawyer and environmental activist. She is the fifth president of Slovakia, a position she has held since 15 June 2019. Čaputová is the first woman to hold the presidency, as well as the youngest president in the history of Slovakia, elected at the age of 45. Čaputová first became known by prevailing in a decade-long struggle against the situating of a toxic landfill in her hometown of Pezinok. For this, Čaputová was awarded the 2016 Goldman Environmental Prize. She won the 2019 Slovak presidential election with 58% of the vote in the run-off. Eduard Heger (; born 3 May 1976) is a Slovak politician, serving as Prime Minister of Slovakia since 1 April 2021. He previously served as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance in the cabinet of Igor Matovič. Heger is a member of the presidium of the populist movement Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO). Early life Heger was born in 1976 in Bratislava to parents employed in culture. His father, a member of the Communist party, organized big music festivals, which allowed young Heger to meet many local high profile musicians. His family was not religious, but Heger embraced Catholic charismatic renewal as a young adult after the death of his father. Marek Krajčí (born 24 March 1974) is a Slovak politician. Krajčí served as deputy in the National Council (Slovakia), National Council from 2016 to 2020 for the Ordinary People and Independent Personalities. Following his resignation, he returned to the National Council (Slovakia), parliament. Amidst pressure from the public and rival political parties on 11 March 2021, he announced his intentions to resign as Minister of Health of Slovakia. Michal Palkovič
Michal Palkovič (born 11 June 1974) is a Slovak pathologist. He served as the State Secretary in charge of the Ministry of Health since March 2023 and has Minister of Health from May to October 2023. Biography Palkovič was born in Bratislava. He studied medicine at the Comenius University, graduating in 1999. In 2006 he received a Ph.D. in Pathology from the same university. He has taught both at the Comenius University as well as the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius. In 2005 he has been employed at the Healthcare Surveillance Authority, where he has led the Pathology section. He was involved with digitalization of autopsy documentation as well as establishing a system for reporting the COVID-19 pandemic victims in Slovakia. Levoča (; hu, Lőcse; rue, Левоча) is a town in the Prešov Region of eastern Slovakia with a population of 14,700.
