Vladimir Ryzhenkov
Vladimir Ilyich Ryzhenkov (russian: Владимир Ильич Рыженков; 27 August 1948 – 14 August 2011) was a Soviet light heavyweight weightlifter. Between 1972 and 1974 he won one world and two European titles and set 12 official world records: six in the snatch, three in the clean and jerk and three in the total. At the 1974 World Championships, while trying to set his 13th world record, Ryzhenkov badly injured his elbow and had to retire from active competitions. Between 1977 and 1991 he trained weightlifters at his club Dynamo Moscow, and after that remained active as a weightlifting functionary. Dynamo Sports Club
Dynamo, also Dinamo, (; , Belarusian: Дынама, ka, დინამო) was a sports and fitness society created in 1923 in the Soviet Union. The society was an association of multi-sport clubs whose members were drawn from the NKVD and, after World War II, the MVD and the KGB. With the Soviet occupation of Eastern Europe after World War II, similar Dynamo societies were established throughout the Eastern Bloc, such as SV Dynamo (East Germany). Since 2016, Vladimir Strzhalkovskiy is the Chairman of the Dynamo Society. Vladimir Vladimirovich Pushkarev (russian: Владимир Владимирович Пушкарев, 1921–1994) was a Soviet weightlifter. In 1950 he won the European middleweight title and a bronze medal at the world championships. He was the Soviet champion in 1949, 1951, 1952 and 1954, finishing second in 1946, 1948 and 1950. The World Weightlifting Championships is an event organised by International Weightlifting Federation (IWF). The first competition, held in March 1891, was won by Edward Lawrence Levy of England.
