Vladimir Karpets
Vladimir Alexandrovich Karpets (russian: Владимир Александрович Карпец) (born 20 September 1980 in Leningrad) is a Russian road bicycle racer, who last rode for UCI ProTeam . Karpets is most notable for winning the white jersey for best young rider in the 2004 Tour de France and his victories in the overall classifications of the Volta a Catalunya and the Tour de Suisse, both in 2007. Karpets is also a two-time Olympian. Born in Leningrad, Karpets turned to cycling and, like fellow Russian Denis Menchov before him, moved to Spain where he joined . At the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Karpets competed on the track in the men's team pursuit where Russia got eliminated in the quarter-finals by Great Britain and took eighth. He also participated in the men's individual pursuit competition, finishing 11th. 2007 UCI Road World Championships
The 2007 UCI Road World Championships took place in Stuttgart, Germany, between September 25 and September 30, 2007. The event consisted of a road race and a time trial for men, women and men under 23. Italian Paolo Bettini and Swiss Fabian Cancellara both won their second world championships in a row in the elite men's road race and time trial respectively. 2005 Giro D'Italia
The 2005 Giro d'Italia was the 88th edition of the Giro d'Italia, one of cycling's Grand Tours. It began in Reggio Calabria with a prologue. The race came to a close with a mass-start road stage that stretched from Albese con Cassano to Milan. Twenty two teams entered the race that was won by the Italian Paolo Savoldelli of the team. Second and third were the Italian Gilberto Simoni and Venezuelan José Rujano. Five riders led the race over eight occasions before Savoldelli gained the lead after the Giro's thirteenth stage. Thomas Voeckler (; born 22 June 1979) is a French former road racing cyclist, who competed professionally between 2001 and 2017, for the team and its previous iterations. Alexandr Vasilievich Kolobnev (russian: Александр Васильевич Колобнев; born 4 May 1981) is a Russian former professional road bicycle racer.
