Vivienne Thom
Vivienne Joyce Thom (born 1960) is an Australian former public servant and current independent consultant and intelligence specialist. From 2010 to 2015, Thom was the Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security with oversight over the six agencies of the Australian Intelligence Community. Thom has a doctorate and academic background in chemistry, and after post-doctoral work and teaching in the field, she joined the Australian Public Service as a patent examiner and qualified as a patent attorney. In 1999, Thom was appointed as Commissioner of Patents and Registrar of Designs for IP Australia. From 2002 to 2006, she was Controller of the Royal Australian Mint. In March 2006, she joined the Office of the Commonwealth Ombudsman as one of two Deputy Ombudsmen. Margaret Stone (judge)
Margaret Ackary Stone (died 1 September 2021) was an Australian judge who served on the Federal Court of Australia. Stone served as the Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security from August 2015 until her retirement in August 2020. Education Stone obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney, a Bachelor of Laws with honours from the Australian National University, and a Master of Laws from Yale Law School. Career Stone taught law at the University of New South Wales for over 15 years, including a role as Sub-Dean in 1981. She also worked as a solicitor becoming a partner at Freehills in 1993, where she worked in the areas of commercial property, infrastructure development, commercial financing, and taxation. Federal Court Stone was appointed a judge of the Federal Court of Australia in October 2000. Dyson Heydon
John Dyson Heydon (born 1 March 1943) is a former Australian judge and barrister who served on the High Court of Australia from 2003 to 2013 and the New South Wales Court of Appeal from 2000 to 2003, and previously served as Dean of the Sydney Law School. He retired from the bench at the constitutionally-mandated age of 70 and went on to chair the Royal Commission into Trade Union Governance and Corruption between 2014 and 2015.
