Viva Ned Flanders
"Viva Ned Flanders" is the tenth episode of the tenth season of the American animated television series ''The Simpsons''. It first aired on the Fox network in the United States on January 10, 1999. In the episode, Ned Flanders, who is revealed to be 60 years old, feels that he has not lived his life to the fullest. He asks for help from his neighbor, Homer Simpson, who takes Ned to Las Vegas to show him "the right way to live". However, while there, the two become intoxicated and accidentally marry two cocktail waitresses. The episode was written by David M. Stern and directed by Neil Affleck. The revelation of Ned's age was heavily debated between the ''Simpsons'' staff, and the decision to make him 60 years old could have been inspired from a joke by ''Simpsons'' writer Ron Hauge. A scene in the episode features the song "Viva Las Vegas" by Elvis Presley, although the staff originally wanted a version of the song performed by Bruce Springsteen. Neil Affleck
Neil Affleck is a Canadian animator, director, and actor. He has worked as an animator on ''The Simpsons'' and '' Family Guy''. As an actor, he appeared in the 1981 film ''Scanners'' and had a leading role in the 1981 film '' My Bloody Valentine''. He also directed animated works such as '' Family Guy'', ''Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends,'' ''Mike the Knight,'' and the 2009 '' Doki'' special. He animated six episodes of ''Rocko's Modern Life'', five episodes of ''The Critic'' and one episode of ''Pearlie'', ''The Legend of Prince Valiant'', and '' Wayside''. "Viva Las Vegas" is a 1964 song recorded by Elvis Presley written by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman for his film ''Viva Las Vegas'', which along with the song was set for general release the year after. Although Elvis Presley never sang the song live, it has since become widely known and often performed by others. The RIAA certified the single disc "Viva Las Vegas/What I Said" gold on March 27, 1992, having sold 500,000 copies in the United States. History The song was recorded on July 10, 1963. In the controlled demolition industry, building implosion is the strategic placing of explosive material and timing of its detonation so that a structure collapses on itself in a matter of seconds, minimizing the physical damage to its immediate surroundings. Despite its terminology, building implosion also includes the controlled demolition of other structures, such as bridges, smokestacks, towers, and tunnels. "Brawl in the Family" is the seventh episode of the thirteenth season of the American animated television series ''The Simpsons''. Teressa Claire MacNeille (née Payne; born June 20, 1951) is an American voice actress, whose credits include voicing Dot Warner on the animated television series '' Animaniacs'', Babs Bunny on ''Tiny Toon Adventures'', Chip and Gadget Hackwrench on '' Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers'', and Daisy Duck in various Disney media since 1999.
