Vito Schlickmann (28 December 1928 – 14 February 2023) was a Brazilian Roman Catholic prelate. Schlickmann was born in Brazil and was ordained to the priesthood in 1954. A bishop is an ordained clergy member who is entrusted with a position of authority and oversight in a religious institution. Eusébio Oscar Scheid S.C.J. (8 December 1932 – 13 January 2021) was a Brazilian prelate of the Catholic Church who was Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro from 2001 to 2009. He was raised to the rank of cardinal in 2003. He was previously Bishop of São José dos Campos from 1981 to 1991 and Archbishop of Florianópolis from 1991 to 2001. A titular bishop in various churches is a bishop who is not in charge of a diocese. By definition, a bishop is an "overseer" of a community of the faithful, so when a priest is ordained a bishop, the tradition of the Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox churches is that he be ordained for a specific place. Maurice Perrin (bishop)
Paul-Marie-Maurice Perrin (30 June 1904 – 3 October 1994) was a French prelate of the Catholic Church who worked in Tunisia, including more than a decade as Archbishop of Carthage. He oversaw the dismantling of the Church's presence there with the end of French colonial rule in Tunisia. He then worked in Iraq as both archbishop and diplomat from 1965 to 1970 and ended his career as the Holy See's representative in Ethiopia from 1970 to 1972. Biography Maurice Perrin was born on 30 June 1904 in Grenoble, France. He moved to Tunisia as a child and studied there and in Beirut before earning an engineering degree in France in 1927. He worked as an engineer in northern France for three years before returning to Tunis and entering the seminary. He was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Carthage, Tunisia, on 29 June 1936.
