Visp Railway Station
Visp railway station is a railway junction, junction station at Visp (French language, French: ''Viège''), in the Cantons of Switzerland, canton of Canton of Valais, Valais, Switzerland. It has a modern station building completed in 2007, and is served by two standard gauge lines and a metre gauge line. Visp station is now the busiest railway station in Valais. Every day, about 230 trains stop at Visp, and approximately 18,400 passengers use the station, mostly for changing to and from trains calling at Sion, Switzerland, Sion. Visp (french: Viège) is the capital of the district of Visp in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. Geography Visp lies in the Rhône valley, at the confluence of the Vispa and the Rhône, west of Brig-Glis. Visp has an area, , of . Of this area, 17.0% is used for agricultural purposes, while 59.7% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 19.5% is settled (buildings or roads) and 3.9% is unproductive land. Geneva Airport railway station (french: Gare de Genève-Aéroport) is a train station located underground next to the terminal building of Geneva International Airport (french: Aéroport international de Genève) (IATA code: GVA), in Grand-Saconnex, Geneva, Switzerland. It is located at the end of the standard gauge Lausanne–Geneva line of Swiss Federal Railways. The station is 250 metres away from the airport terminal via a covered walkway, and very near to the Palexpo fairground. Furka Oberalp Bahn
The Furka Oberalp Railway (german: link=no, Furka Oberalp Bahn) is a narrow gauge mountain railway in Switzerland with a gauge of . It runs in the Graubünden, Uri and Canton of Valais. Since January 1, 2003, it is part of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn when it merged with the BVZ Zermatt-Bahn. The line begins in Disentis in the canton of Graubünden, where there is a connection to the Rhätische Bahn (RhB). It then runs over the Oberalp Pass to Andermatt in the canton of Uri. Through the Furka Base Tunnel it reaches the Goms District area and Brig in the canton of Valais. In Brig, it connects to the BVZ Zermattbahn since 1930. The first half of the line was opened by the French company ''Brig-Furka-Disentis Bahn'' (BFD) in 1914. Trains could go as far as Gletsch, starting from Brig. Spiez
Spiez is a town and municipality on the shore of Lake Thun in the Bernese Oberland region of the Swiss canton of Bern. It is part of the Frutigen-Niedersimmental administrative district. Besides the town of Spiez, the municipality also includes the settlements of Einigen, Hondrich, Faulensee, and Spiezwiler. The official language of Spiez is (the Swiss variety of Standard) German, but the main spoken language is the local variant of the Alemannic Swiss German dialect. Bern Railway Station
Bern railway station (german: Bahnhof Bern) serves the municipality of Bern, the federal city of Switzerland. Opened progressively between 1858 and 1860, and rebuilt several times since then, it lies on the Olten–Bern and the Lausanne–Bern lines (together forming the line known as the ''Mittellandlinie'' in German) and is near the end of the Lötschberg line. NRLA
The New Railway Link through the Alps (NRLA; german: Neue Eisenbahn-Alpentransversale, NEAT, french: nouvelle ligne ferroviaire à travers les Alpes, NLFA, it, Nuova ferrovia transalpina, NFTA), is a Swiss construction project for faster north–south rail links across the Swiss Alps. Brig Railway Station
Brig railway station is an important railway junction in the municipality of Brig-Glis ( French: ''Brigue-Glis''), in the Canton of Valais, Switzerland. Opened in 1878, it is adjacent to the northern portal of the Simplon Tunnel and is served by two standard gauge lines. Another two metre gauge lines serve the physically adjacent Brig Bahnhofplatz railway station. History Service to Brig began on 18 June 1878; it was at that time the eastern terminus of the Simplon Railway. The opening of the Simplon Tunnel in 1906 extended the Simplon Railway southeast to Domodossola, in Italy. Brig's other standard gauge line, the Lötschberg railway line, opened in 1913.
