Viryal shevlisem ( cv, шевлесем (patches of light, cv, вирьял ( Virjal) - riding Chuvashs) is an interregional festival of performers of the Chuvash variety song, carried out annually at the beginning of summer in Alikovo's village (the Alikovsky District of the Chuvash republic). History The festival has arisen in 1997 as regional review-competition of the Chuvash variety song. Virjal
Virjal or ''Viryal'' ( cv, вир '' ir' — upper, west and cv, ял '' al' — village, community) — a part of Chuvash people. Denomination "Virjal", i. e. upper, living upstream of Volga River, is opposed to Anatri ( cv, анат ''nat' — lower, east), i. e. Lower Chuvash, living downstream of Volga River. Origin Some scientists suggest Upper Chuvash descend from Hill Maris, assimilated by Chuvashs. Anthropological analysis via mathematical simulation suggests Hill Maris and Upper Chuvashs are represented by the same anthropological type. Valinke
Валинке is a national folklore ensemble of riding Chuvashs of Alikovsky District of the Chuvash Republic. It is part of a collection of about 60 masters of national art creativity. The leader is Lydia Vasilevna Filippova, the director of Alikovsky palace of culture. The creative collective of the Chuvash song and dance includes three age groups: seniors, adult and children. The grpi[ omc;ides teachers, schoolboys, doctors, pensioners and art workers. Performers use traditional costumes and musical instruments, such as''palnai'', ''nai'', ''khupkhu'', ''tutut'', ''caval'' and ''parappan'' which bring unique color. Alikovo Middle School
Alikovo Middle School (also known as "Yakovlev's school") is a state middle school that was opened in 1853 in the Alikovsky District of the Chuvash Republic of Russia, where it still stands today. According to the present document archive, the school opened in 1853, in a parish comprising 34 villages, with a population of 3,917 males and 3,983 females, and was built as the School of the Ministry of State Property. Alikovo folk theater folk theater of Alikovsky District of the Chuvash Republic, is located in village Alikovo. History The library in Alikovo opened in 1933. Vasily Illarionovich Volkov, the native of village Siner, started to work there. It began cultural education of native land. Because of this, the youth starts to reach for the culture center.
