Valinke
Валинке is a national folklore ensemble of riding Chuvashs of Alikovsky District of the Chuvash Republic. It is part of a collection of about 60 masters of national art creativity. The leader is Lydia Vasilevna Filippova, the director of Alikovsky palace of culture. The creative collective of the Chuvash song and dance includes three age groups: seniors, adult and children. The grpi[ omc;ides teachers, schoolboys, doctors, pensioners and art workers. Performers use traditional costumes and musical instruments, such as''palnai'', ''nai'', ''khupkhu'', ''tutut'', ''caval'' and ''parappan'' which bring unique color. Their repertoire includes "Snowdrops" (Çеçпĕлсем) lullabies, game songs, dances, ''chastooshkas'' and fairy tales. They also participate in ceremonies and on holidays. Alikovo Middle School
Alikovo Middle School (also known as "Yakovlev's school") is a state middle school that was opened in 1853 in the Alikovsky District of the Chuvash Republic of Russia, where it still stands today. As the alternate name of the education center suggests, Alikovo was founded by Ivan Yakovlev, a celebrated Chuvash educator and author, who is noted for having facilitated experiences of enlightenment. History In Tsarist period Based on documented evidence, Alikovsky High School was established in 1854. According to the present document archive, the school opened in 1853, in a parish comprising 34 villages, with a population of 3,917 males and 3,983 females, and was built as the School of the Ministry of State Property. In the period from 1854 till 1872, the school had no proper accommodation and was located inside the parish preacher's bath house and later on in the watch building of the village church. ''On the life's way'' (russian: По жизненному пути, cv, Пурнăç çулĕпе) is the social-politic oriented newspaper published in the Chuvashia (Russia). History The first issue of the newspaper was published on August 4, 1932, under the name "Collective-farm newspaper" ( cv, Колхоз хаçачĕ). In 1963 in connection with administrative-territorial reorganization in the Chuvash ASSR the newspaper stopped work. In 1965 after a reconstruction of the Alikovsky District of the Chuvash ASSR the edition renewed work, but already under a name "On a Lenin way" ( cv, Ленин çулĕпе). Since September 14, 1996 till this day the newspaper is issued under a name "On the life's way" ( cv, Пурнăç çулĕпе)).
