Virginie Adèle Lydie Boutaud-Manent (''née'' Boutaud; born February 27, 1963), also known mononymously as Virginie, is a French Brazilian singer, songwriter, classical guitarist, and former model and actress, famous for being the vocalist of the new wave bands Metrô and Virginie & Fruto Proibido. Biography Boutaud was born in São Paulo on February 27, 1963, to French emigrants. As a teenager she studied at the Lycée Pasteur, a school for French Brazilians, where she met Alec Haiat, Yann Laouenan, Daniel "Dany" Roland, Marcel Zimberg and Xavier Leblanc; with them she founded, in 1978, the experimental/progressive rock band A Gota Suspensa. After releasing a self-titled album in 1983, they decided to shift their musical direction towards a more accessible new wave sound inspired by Blondie, Laurie Anderson and Rita Lee, among others, and in the following year, they changed their name to Metrô. Daniel David Roland Pinto (born February 9, 1962), known as Dany Roland, is an Argentine-born Brazilian musician, actor, sound designer, film director and record producer, famous for being the drummer of the popular new wave band Metrô and for his collaborations with wife Bia Lessa. Biography Roland was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on February 9, 1962; his parents were Egyptian Jews of French, Italian and Portuguese descent who emigrated to Argentina from Alexandria in the late 1950s. EMTEC is part of the Dexxon Group headquartered in Gennevilliers, France, and markets consumer computer data storage products and other computer related consumables. A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs. ''Crime Perfeito'' (Portuguese for "''Perfect Crime''") is the only release by Virginie & Fruto Proibido, a band fronted by Virginie Boutaud (famous for being the vocalist of new wave band Metrô) and also comprising Don Beto (guitar), Nilton Leonardi (bass) and Albino Infantozzi (drums). It was released in 1988 by Epic Records. The band was founded also in 1988, two years after Virginie was fired from Metrô due to "creative divergences", and ended in 1995 after she decided to retire from the musical business until 2002, when Metrô reformed and she was reunited with them. Unlike Virginie's previous releases with Metrô, ''Crime Perfeito'' was a commercial failure and received mostly mixed reviews at the time of its release; however, "Más Companhias" would become a minor hit after being used in the soundtrack of the ''telenovela'' ''Fera Radical'', which ran from March to November 1988. "Beat Acelerado" (Portuguese for "''Fast Beat''") is a single by Brazilian band Metrô, released in 1984 by Epic Records. The lead single for their debut studio album ''Olhar'', which would come out in the following year, it was the band's first official release under the name "Metrô" (they were known as A Gota Suspensa from their foundation in 1978 until 1984) and their first of many releases under the Epic label.
