Virginia State Route 407
State Route 407 (SR 407) is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of Virginia. Known as Indian River Road, the state highway runs from SR 168 in Norfolk east to a continuation of Indian River Road at the boundary between the independent cities of Chesapeake and Virginia Beach. SR 407 connects U.S. Route 460 (US 460) and US 13 on the south side of the Eastern Branch Elizabeth River. Route description SR 407 begins at an intersection with SR 168 (Campostella Road) in the city of Norfolk. Indian River Road continues west toward the Berkley neighborhood of the city and intersects Wilson Road, which carries US 460 and SR 168. Access to westbound US 460 and southbound SR 166 toward Chesapeake is via continuing west to Wilson Road; access to eastbound US 460 and northbound SR 166 to cross the Campostella Bridge over the Eastern Branch Elizabeth River toward Downtown Norfolk is via SR 168. Norfolk Assembly
Norfolk Assembly was a Ford manufacturing plant that opened on April 20, 1925 on the Elizabeth River, near downtown Norfolk, Virginia — closing in 2007. Modeled after the River Rouge Plant, the facility eventually included a power house, water treatment plant, barber shop, safety-shoe store, restaurant, fitness center and TV studio. At the time of its closure, Ford employed more than 2,600 people at the facility. Ford invested $375 million at the plant in 2002 to upgrade it for production of the redesigned eleventh generation 2004 F-150. State Route 337 (SR 337) is a primary state highway in the South Hampton Roads area of the U.S. state of Virginia. It runs east from Suffolk to Portsmouth, where it crosses Jordan Bridge. It continues on the east side of the Southern Branch Elizabeth River in the South Norfolk neighborhood of Chesapeake. There it turns north, through Norfolk, crossing the Berkley Bridge into downtown, and ending at the Naval Station Norfolk at Sewell's Point. Berkley was an incorporated town in Norfolk County, Virginia. Chartered by an Act of Assembly in 1890, the Town of Berkley was located directly across the Eastern Branch Elizabeth River from the City of Norfolk in the South Hampton Roads area.
