Vinstre
Vinstre is a lake in Innlandet county, Norway. The lake lies in Øystre Slidre Municipality and the very western tip of the lake crosses over into the neighboring Vang Municipality. The lake sits at an elevation of above sea level. Vinstre was regulated in connection with the construction of the Øvre Vinstra hydroelectric power plant. The lake Bygdin flows into this lake and on the opposite end, it flows out into the dammed lake Sandvatnet/Kaldfjorden/Øyvatnet which is the headwaters for the river Vinstra. Along its northern shore runs the Jotunheimvegen summer toll road, built in the 1950s as a result of hydroelectricity development affecting the operation of the earlier milk boat service. Name The name of the lake is (maybe) derived from the verb which means "bend", "twist", or "wind" with the suffix ''-str'' added to the end. Sødorp Chapel
Sødorp Chapel ( no, Sødorp kapell) is a chapel of the Church of Norway in Nord-Fron Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the town of Vinstra. It is an annex chapel for the Sødorp parish which is part of the Nord-Gudbrandsdal prosti ( deanery) in the Diocese of Hamar. The brown, wooden chapel was built in a long church design in 1929 using plans drawn up by the architect Knut Villa. The chapel seats about 169 people. History The old Sødorp Church was built on this site in 1752 and it stood on this site until 1908 when it was disassembled and moved to a site closer to the centre of the village of Vinstra. After the church was moved away, the local residents began thinking about building an annex chapel on the site to serve the eastern part of Vinstra. In the late 1920s, permission was granted and planning began. Knut Villa was hired to design the building. The chapel was built and financed by volunteers and donations. Gudbrandsdalslågen
The Gudbrandsdalslågen (or simply ''Lågen'') is a river which flows through the Gudbrandsdal valley in Innlandet county, Norway. The long river runs through a large valley in Eastern Norway before emptying into Mjøsa, the largest lake in Norway. The river flows through the municipalities of Lesja, Dovre, Sel, Nord-Fron, Sør-Fron, Ringebu, Øyer, and Lillehammer. Watercourse The Gudbrandsdalslågen begins in the lake Lesjaskogsvatnet (or Lesjavatn), which lies in Lesja municipality in the far northern part of the county. Lesjavatn is the only lake in Norway which has two outlets, and they both flow into two of Norway’s more famous rivers. Sødorp Church
Sødorp Church ( no, Sødorp kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Nord-Fron Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the town of Vinstra. It is the church for the Sødorp parish which is part of the Nord-Gudbrandsdal prosti ( deanery) in the Diocese of Hamar. The brown, wooden church was built in a cruciform design in 1752 using plans drawn up by the architects Per Korpberget and his son Jens Korpberget (the church was disassembled and moved to its present location in 1908). Innlandet is a county in Norway. It was created on 1 January 2020 with the merger of the old counties of Oppland and Hedmark (the municipalities of Jevnaker and Lunner were transferred to the neighboring county of Viken on the same date). Kvam is a village in Nord-Fron Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village is located in the Gudbrandsdalen valley, along the river Gudbrandsdalslågen, about northwest of the town of Vinstra. ''Peer Gynt'' (, ) is a five- act play in verse by the Norwegian dramatist Henrik Ibsen published in 1876. Written in Norwegian, it is one of the most widely performed Norwegian plays.
