Vinod Chopra Productions
Vidhu Vinod Chopra (born 5 September 1952) is an Indian film director, producer, editor, screenwriter, lyricist and actor. His well-known films as director are ''Parinda'' (1988), '' 1942: A Love Story'' (1994). He is also known for producing '' Munna Bhai film series'', ''3 Idiots'' (2009), '' PK'' (2014), ''Sanju'' (2018) under his banner Vinod Chopra Films. Early life Chopra was born and grew up in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. His father was D. N. Chopra and veteran filmmaker Ramanand Sagar was his half-brother. His father's family originally came from Peshawar, British India. His mother was Shanti Devi Mahalakshmi who left Kashmir with him and family after the exodus and mass killings of Kashmiri Pandits due to the Kashmir conflict in 1990. PK (film)
''PK'' () is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language fantasy comedy drama edited and directed by Rajkumar Hirani and written by Hirani and Abhijat Joshi, and jointly produced by Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra under the banners Rajkumar Hirani Films and Vinod Chopra Films respectively. The plot follows an innocent alien (Aamir Khan) who lands on Earth but loses his communication device. He meets Jaggu (Anushka Sharma), a heartbroken reporter, and tries to find his device. With time, he raises many thought-provoking questions. After the success of ''3 Idiots'' (2009), Hirani and Joshi began scripting their next project; finding similarities with the plot of ''Inception'' (2010), they scrapped the film. It was later rewritten with a different angle and tone. Anupama Chopra () is an Indian author, journalist, film critic and director of the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival. She is also the founder and editor of the digital platform Film Companion, which offers a curated look at cinema. ''Shikara'' is a 2020 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film produced and directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The film is based on the Kashmiri pandit exodus of 1990. The story revolved around the love story of Shanti and Shiv Dhar, who are Kashmiri Pandits in the backdrop of the Exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from Kashmir. The book '' Our Moon Has Blood Clots'' by Rahul Pandita has inspired many parts of the movie. While it received mixed reviews from critics, the audience was critical of the film for failing to tell the untold story of Kashmiri Pandits, as claimed. The movie received a lot of negative reactions from general public for portrayal of Kashimiri pandits' exodus in a very unrealistic manner as opposed to the title of the movie. Tanuja Chandra
Tanuja Chandra (born 1969) is an Indian film director and writer. Chandra is the daughter of writer Kamna Chandra and sister of author Vikram Chandra and film critic Anupama Chopra. She co-wrote the screenplay of Yash Chopra's ''Dil To Pagal Hai'' (1997) and is known for frequently directing women-oriented films where female characters are the main protagonists, notably '' Dushman'' (1998) and '' Sangharsh'' (1999). Vikram Chandra (born 23 July 1961) is an Indian-American writer. His first novel, ''Red Earth and Pouring Rain'', won the 1996 Commonwealth Writers' Prize for Best First Book. Early life Chandra was born in New Delhi in 1961. His father Navin Chandra was a business executive. His mother Kamna Chandra has written several Hindi films and plays.
