Vincenzo Cantiello (born 25 August 2000) is an Italian singer who at the 12th annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Malta with his song "Tu primo grande amore" and won. Early years Cantiello was born on 25 August 2000 in Sant'Arpino, Campania. He has been interested in music since early childhood initially singing in the choir of his church, but had started singing on his own when he was 9. Music career He gained national attention after taking part in ''Ti lascio una canzone'' in 2014. The following 15 November, he represented Italy at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with his song "Tu primo grande amore", fishing first with a total of 159 points, just twelve points ahead from 's Planet of the Children who placed second. She won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015, where she represented Malta in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015, Malta with the song "Not My Soul". The Junior Eurovision Song Contest (often shortened to JESC, Junior Eurovision or Junior EuroSong) is an international song competition which has been organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) annually since 2003. It is held in a different European city each year, however the same city can host the contest more than once. The competition has many similarities to the Eurovision Song Contest from which its name is taken. Each participating broadcaster sends an act, the members of which are aged 9 to 14 on the day of the contest, and an original song lasting three minutes at most to compete against the other participating entries. Malta has entered the Junior Eurovision Song Contest eighteen times since debuting at the first contest in 2003 with Sarah Harrison. Entrants for the Contest were selected by a national selection, organised by the Maltese broadcaster PBS from 2003 to 2010. In 2013, the country opted for an internal selection since the broadcaster decided to return to the contest at a rather late stage (25 September 2013).
