Villiers (Paris Métro)
Villiers () is a station on Line 2 and Line 3 of the Paris Métro. It is located on the border of the 8th and 17th arrondissement of Paris. Location The station is located under Place Prosper-Goubaux, at the start of Avenue de Villiers. The platforms for the two lines are placed side by side and approximately oriented east–west, along the axis of Boulevard de Courcelles. History It is named after the ''Avenue de Villiers'', which once led to the 18th century village of ''Villiers-la-Garenne'', now part of Levallois-Perret. The ''Barrière de Monceau'', a gate built for the collection of taxation as part of the Wall of the Farmers-General was at the same location; the gate was built between 1784 and 1788 and demolished after 1859. The Line 2 platforms opened on 21 January 1903, although trains had been operating between Étoile and Anvers since 7 October 1902. MF 67
The MF 67 is a fleet of steel-wheel electric multiple unit trains for the Paris Métro. The first MF 67 trains entered service on Line 3 in June 1968, and became one of the biggest orders for the Métro, with 1,482 cars constructed. The need to replace the Sprague-Thomson fleet, as well as increasing costs associated with the later-cancelled plan to introduce rubber-tyred trains on all Métro lines, were the main factors for the size of the order. At its peak, during the late-1980s and the early-1990s, the MF 67 operated on eight of the (then) fifteen Métro lines (Lines 2, 3 and 3bis, 5, 7bis, 9, 10 and 12): the MF 67 also operated on Lines 7, 8 and 13 (including the old Line 14), all before the introduction of the MF 77 in 1978. Noctilien is the night bus service in Paris and its agglomeration. It is managed by the Île-de-France Mobilités (formerly the STIF), the Île-de-France regional public transit authority, and operated by RATP (with 32 lines) and Transilien SNCF (with 16 lines). It replaced the previous '' Noctambus'' service on the night of 20/21 September 2005, providing for a larger number of lines than before and claiming to be better adapted to night-time transport needs. Parisine is a typeface created by Jean-François Porchez. Distributed by Typofonderie. It is used in Paris Métro, tramways, buses and RER parts operated by the RATP Group in Île-de-France. Starting in 2015, the Osaka City Subway in Japan adopted Parisine as the Latin-character component of its new signage system, which is gradually being introduced throughout its network. Parisine It was originally developed in 1996 as a custom typeface in Bold and Bold Italic developed for the RATP to improve signage legibility and space economy. The design was based on the proportions of Helvetica Bold, condensed at 90%. Gallieni (Parc de Bagnolet) () is a station on Paris Métro Line 3, being its eastern terminus. It is next door to a large international bus station serving bus services from Eurolines. Pont de Levallois–Bécon () is the northwestern terminus of Line 3 of the Paris Métro, located in the commune of Levallois-Perret. Rome () is a station on Line 2 of the Paris Métro. It is located on the border of the 8th and 17th arrondissement. Location The station is located under the central reservation of Boulevard des Batignolles, east bridge crossing the tracks to Gare Saint-Lazare. Oriented approximately along an east–west axis, it is located between Villiers and Place de Clichy stations. History The station was opened on 7 October 1902 as part of the extension of line 2 from Étoile to Anvers. The name is that of one of several streets in the area named for European capitals, in this case Rue de Rome, capital of Italy.
