Villiers-sur-Marne (, literally ''Villiers sur Marne'') is a commune in the eastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located from the center of Paris. The commune of Villiers-sur-Marne is part of the sector of Porte de Paris, one of the four sectors of the " new town" of Marne-la-Vallée. History On 7 July 1899, a part of the territory of Villiers-sur-Marne was detached and merged with a part of the territory of La Queue-en-Brie and a part of the territory of Chennevières-sur-Marne to create the commune of Le Plessis-Trévise. Villiers-sur-Marne–Le Plessis-Trévise, more commonly known as Villiers-sur-Marne, is a French railway station in Villiers-sur-Marne, Val-de-Marne department. The station is at kilometric point 20.741 of the Paris-Est–Mulhouse-Ville railway; it is nearby the town of Le Plessis-Trévise hence its name. It is served by RER E. The station Opened on the Paris-Est–Mulhouse-Ville railway in 1857, the station is served since 30 August 1999 by trains of the RER E line going through the E4 branch. It was previously served by suburban trains from the Gare de l'Est since 1857. Initially one of the general terminus of the RER E line, the station became a partial terminus (for 4 trains out of 6 at off-peak times and 1 train out of 2 at peak hours) with the extension of this line to Tournan on 14 December 2003. , the estimated annual attendance by the SNCF was 8,146,119 passengers. RER E
RER E is one of the five lines in the Réseau Express Régional (English: Regional Express Network), a hybrid commuter rail and rapid transit system serving Paris, France and its suburbs. The RER E line travels between Paris and eastern suburbs, with all trains serving the stations in central Paris, before branching out towards the ends of the line. The line runs from the western terminus Haussmann–Saint-Lazare (E1) to the eastern termini Chelles–Gournay (E2) and Tournan (E4). It is operated by SNCF. Hayat Boumeddiene (born 26 June 1988) is currently being sought by French police as a suspected accomplice of her partner, Amedy Coulibaly, who was the main suspect for the Montrouge shooting, in which municipal police officer Clarissa Jean-Philippe (aged 26; from Martinique) was shot and killed, and was the hostage-taker and gunman in the Porte de Vincennes siege, in which he killed four hostages and was killed by police. According to Coulibaly's attorney, she was the more radical of the two. She is currently being sought by French police as a suspected accomplice of Coulibaly, alleged to have helped him commit his attacks. Chennevières-sur-Marne (, literally ''Chennevières on Marne'') is a commune in the southeastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located from the center of Paris. History People have lived on the site of Chennevières-sur-Marne since pre-historic times, the hilly, riverside location being an advantageous spot.
