Vilho Cornér
Samuli Vilho Cornér (17 February 1868 – 22 April 1946) was a Finnish jurist, bank director and politician, born in Pielisjärvi. He was a member of the Parliament of Finland from 1913 to 1916, representing the Finnish Party. After the Finnish Party ceased to exist in December 1918, Cornér joined the National Coalition Party. Pielisjärvi is a former municipality in the region of North Karelia in Finland. The municipality had inhabitants in 1970. Pielisjärvi was a Finnish-speaking municipality. Pielisjärvi municipality was joined with the city of Lieksa in 1973. History Pielisjärvi is named after the lake Pielinen, sometimes also called ''Pielisjärvi''. The area of modern North Karelia was ceded by Russia to Sweden in 1617 in the Treaty of Stolbovo, becoming part of the Kexholm County in 1634. The Finnish Party ( fi, Suomalainen Puolue) was a Fennoman conservative political party in the autonomous Grand Duchy of Finland and independent Finland. Born out of Finland's language strife in the 1860s, the party sought to improve the position of the Finnish language in Finnish society. Johan Vilhelm Snellman, Yrjö Sakari Yrjö-Koskinen, and Johan Richard Danielson-Kalmari were its ideological leaders. Heinola
Heinola () is a town and a municipality of inhabitants () located in the eastern part of the Päijänne Tavastia region, Finland, near the borders of the South Savonia region and the Kymenlaakso region. It is the third largest municipality in the region in terms of population after Lahti and Hollola. The neighbour municipalities of Heinola are Asikkala, Hartola, Iitti, Kouvola, Mäntyharju, Nastola, Pertunmaa and Sysmä. In the coat of arms of Heinola, the Tavastia's provincial animal, the Eurasian lynx, crosses a fess resembling an arch bridge; it refers to the Jyränkö Bridge (''Jyrängönsilta'') from 1932, which crosses ''Jyrängönvirta'', the smaller part of the Kymi River.
