Vilhelm Wohlert
Vilhelm Wohlert (27 May 1920 – 10 May 2007) was a Danish architect. His most notable work was on the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebæk, Denmark. Earlt life and education Wohlert was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. He trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts' School of Architecture, where one of his teachers was Kaare Klint (1888–1954). From 1946-47, he worked in Stockholm with the architects Sven Markelius and Hakon Ahlberg, both practitioners of Scandinavian modernism. He also worked in collaboration with Kaare Klint until his death in 1954. Career In 1958, he and his partner and fellow architect Jørgen Bo (1919-1999) started work on the Danish modernist architecture Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humbaek, a project on which they would work for the next 33 years. Church Of Our Lady (Copenhagen)
The Church of Our Lady ( da, Vor Frue Kirke) is the cathedral of Copenhagen. It is situated on the Frue Plads public square in central Copenhagen, next to the historic main building of the University of Copenhagen. The present-day version of the church was designed by the architect Christian Frederik Hansen (1756–1845) in the Neoclassical style and was completed in 1829. The church was located on the highest point near the new town of Havn, later Copenhagen. Hamm (, Latin: ''Hammona'') is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located in the northeastern part of the Ruhr area. As of 2016 its population was 179,397. The city is situated between the A1 motorway and A2 motorway. Hamm railway station is an important hub for rail transport and renowned for its distinctive station building. Knights Of The Order Of The Dannebrog
The Order of the Dannebrog ( da, Dannebrogordenen) is a Danish order of chivalry instituted in 1671 by Christian V. Until 1808, membership in the order was limited to fifty members of noble or royal rank, who formed a single class known as ''White Knights'' to distinguish them from the ''Blue Knights'' who were members of the Order of the Elephant. In 1808, the Order was reformed and divided into four classes. The ''Grand Commander'' class is reserved to persons of princely origin. It is awarded only to royalty with close family ties with the Danish Royal House. The statute of the Order was amended in 1951 by a Royal Ordinance so that both men and women could be members of the Order. Today, the Order of the Dannebrog is a means of honouring and rewarding the faithful servants of the modern Danish state for meritorious civil or military service, for a particular contribution to the arts, sciences or business life, or for working for Danish interests. ''The Independent'' is a British online newspaper. It was established in 1986 as a national morning printed paper. Nicknamed the ''Indy'', it began as a broadsheet and changed to tabloid format in 2003. The last printed edition was published on Saturday 26 March 2016, leaving only the online edition. Dreyers Fond (English: The Dreyer Foundation) is a Copenhagen based Danish foundation founded by husband-and wife Thorvald and Margot Dreyer in 1976. Thorvald Dreyer was an architect. Margot Dreyer was a lawyer. The foundation supports projects and activities aimed at promoting the development of the architects’ and lawyers’ professions and their interaction with society. The annual Dreyer Honorary Award honors excellence in architecture as well as law. The foundation is also active in the market for real estate investments. Real estate portfolio Løvenborg Dreyers Fond is based in the Løvenborg building on Vesterbrogade in Copenhagen. The building is from 1906 and was designed by Anton Rosen.
