Viktor Lazlo (album)
''Viktor Lazlo'' is the self-titled second studio album by French-Belgian singer Viktor Lazlo. Belgium was responsible to host the Eurovision Song Contest after Sandra Kim had won in 1986 with her song J'aime la vie. Lazlo was asked to host the event as she is fluent in several languages and thus her self-titled album became very successful all over Europe, entering the Top 20 album charts in Holland, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It spent 19 weeks on the German album charts. Eurovision Song Contest 1987
The Eurovision Song Contest 1987 was the 32nd edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Brussels, Belgium, following the country's victory at the with the song "J'aime la vie" by Sandra Kim. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster RTBF, Radio-télévision belge de la Communauté française (RTBF), the contest was held at the Brussels Expo, Centenary Palace on 9 May 1987 (also Europe Day) and was hosted by French-Belgian singer Viktor Lazlo. Twenty-two countries took part in the contest with and returning to the competition after their absences the previous year. This set the record for the highest number of competing countries up until that point. Etterlene "Bunny" DeBarge (born March 10, 1955) is an American soul singer–songwriter and the lone female sibling of the Motown family group DeBarge. She was the lead vocalist on the R&B ballad " A Dream", from the group's ''In a Special Way'' album, and is also the co-writer of the group's 1982 breakthrough hit, " I Like It" and the number-one hit, "Time Will Reveal". Early life Etterlene "Bunny" DeBarge is the eldest of 10 children, born to Etterlene (née) Abney and Robert DeBarge, Sr. While spending her initial childhood in Detroit, her family moved to Grand Rapids when she was 16. J'aime La Vie
"J'aime la vie" (; "I Love Life") was the winning song of the Eurovision Song Contest 1986, performed for by Sandra Kim. Belgium had finished the 1985 contest in last place, and thus achieved the rare turnaround from last to first in the space of one year. The song also marks the only time to date that Belgium has won the contest. The song was also included on Kim's album ''J'aime la vie'' in 1986. When released as a single, it topped Belgium's singles chart for seven weeks and was the country's best-selling hit of 1986, and it also reached the top 20 in Austria, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Sweden. Sandra Caldarone (born 15 October 1972), better known as Sandra Kim, is a Belgian singer of Italian descent who won the Eurovision Song Contest 1986. Her father was an Italian immigrant from Torrebruna in the Province of Chieti in the Abruzzo region of Italy. At the time of her Eurovision win, she was only 13 years old, making her the youngest winner of the contest, even though the lyrics of her song "J'aime la vie" ("I love life") claim her to be 15; the Swiss petitioned to have the song disqualified after her real age was revealed. This petition ended up failing and Kim went on to win that year's Eurovision Song Contest. ''She'' is the first studio album by French-Belgian singer Viktor Lazlo. The album consists of several original jazz pop compositions and includes two cover versions, the first one being Rita Hayworth's Put the Blame on Mame and a French version of the Julie London song Cry Me a River, entitled ''Pleurer Des Rivieres''. The song was successful on the French single charts peaking at No. 27. Seven songs were eventually released as a single off the album: ''Backdoorman'', ''Last Call For An Angel'', ''Loser'' and ''Sweet, Soft'N'Lazy'', which although it never charted anywhere became quite successful.
