Vikrama Simhapuri University
Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) is a public state university in the Nellore district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It was established in 2008. It offers 17 post-graduate courses. It was located at Kakuturu Village for the distance of 13 Kilometers from the District Head Quarters. Campus VSU does not have its own buildings. It started with an administrative building at Dargamitta, Nellore. Regular classes are at V.R. High School Campus (Old Law College Campus), Nellore. Then after shifting to its own buildings, the administratitive building was named Potti Sriramulu Block. The Abdul kalam building held the classrooms, and boys and girls hostels at Kakutur Nellore. The Right to Information (RTI) is an act of the Parliament of India which sets out the rules and procedures regarding citizens' right to information. It replaced the former Freedom of Information Act, 2002. Under the provisions of RTI Act, any citizen of India may request information from a "public authority" (a body of Government or "instrumentality of State") which is required to reply expeditiously or within thirty days. In case of matter involving a petitioner's life and liberty, the information has to be provided within 48 hours. The Act also requires every public authority to computerize their records for wide dissemination and to proactively publish certain categories of information so that the citizens need minimum recourse to request for information formally.
